I went to my friend S.'s wedding. I'm not really a wedding person but I must admit that their wedding was really great. Luckily, they had great weather, which was pretty much a pre-requisite because it was an outdoor wedding. I was so happy to be able to spend the whole day outside as I don't get to do that so much lately. It was a fantastic day.

It was my friend Marek's 25th birthday last Friday. He threw together a really superb birthday party -- and I've got the pictures to prove it. :) We were supposed to have it outside but the weather around here has been rather unfortunate lately so we had to stay in.

I don't like Easter purely because of the local Easter tradition. It involves men making a whip from willow branches and then going house to house, beating women with it (and sometimes also throwing cold water on them) and getting eggs, sweets and alcohol in return. It's apparently to keep the women healthy, beautiful and fertile for the next year ( Read more... )

Here's my second Advent weekend in photos. We spent most of it doing our Christmas baking. It was so much fun, I really love baking -- I just wish I'd eaten less of the dough. I can never resist, though. :P But there were other things, too.

I decided to take one more day off just to make sure I'm fully recovered and rested. I really didn't want to rush it this time -- and besides, shaky legs and spirals are not exactly compatible. :P Tomorrow, however, I am planning to do some yoga and finally go skating after work. It's been only a little over a week since we came back from our holiday and it already feels like a month. I suspect it's partly because I caught a stomach bug on Tuesday. I'm on the mend now but it was bloody awful. I had to cancel my classes (which was the last thing I wanted to do after coming back from a 2-week holiday), I couldn't go ice ( Read more... )

I'm leaving for my holiday tomorrow and I cannot wait. July was unusually busy - the busiest July I have ever had. I'm really looking forward to having some time off.
