Antonio looked at himself in the full length mirror on the inside of Kim's closet door. He tugged gently on the white button up shirt he was wearing and frowned lightly when he managed to untuck it. He was far too nervous for his own good. Usually he didn't allow things like this to get to him. But this was different. He needed a job. He had never /needed/ a job before. There had always been the option of going home or accepting help from his family back home. However, now it was exactly the opposite. His family was relying on him to send a check home every month to keep them from going bankrupt ( ... )

Romano raised an eyebrow at Antonio's choice of dress, the nickname going right over his head in preference of this more pressing matter. He'd never seen the Spaniard in anything like this before- well most times he did see him, it was during work or around class, but it was still quite a shock ( ... )

|D;;; Sure. Lets go with that! mustlovetomato August 29 2009, 06:46:29 UTC
Antonio was slightly confused by how long it took Romano to respond but shook it off as just the other man trying to think of something to say. However, when the italian did speak he couldn't help but chuckle lightly. He was slightly surprised to find that deep down a part of him actually missed the mans brash attitude while he was away ( ... )

Not enough money...as far as he was aware Antonio had been doing just fine. How the hell did he manage to drop so desperately into poverty so quickly? Just after he'd come back from Spain too ( ... )

Antonio let out a gentle sigh and leaned against the closed door, his eyes closing and his smile dropping momentarily as the two focused on whatever was playing on tv. He really didn't care what was and didn't bother on pretending like he was happy, at least while no one was looking at him. The spanish man officially zoned out, his gaze focused on the tomatoes growing in the windowsill ( ... )

Kim looked towards the kitchen, hearing Romano's question, and looked over at Toni. Was he... ok? She shrugged it off and looked towards the kitchen again. " There's some tomato soup in a pot in the fridge from last night's dinner." she said, finishing her pho and putting the bowl in the sink after getting into the kitchen.

Coming back out, she turned the TV off, and looked at Toni. " Where are you going for the interview anyway?" she asked, realizing she knew he had an interview, but not where it was supposed to take place.

Antonio was caught slightly of guard when Kimmy turned of the tv as was looking at him. He offered his fake smile and quickly thought about the names of the places he would be heading too today.

"Tatiana Bathhouse as a masseuse and La Maison De Perfection as a Landscaper" He said after a moment, remembering where he had to go today. He figured that he wouldn't be able to work as a masseuse because of how rough and calloused his hands were from growing up on a farm.
However, he was extremely hopeful for the landscaping job since he had experience with working with his hands. Even if the place was extremely upscale, he knew that he could at least try for the job. It wasn't like him to give up so easily.

"I have to go" He called out, placing one of his hands on the door. Half of him wanted Romano and Kim with him when he went for his interviews for mental support. The other half of him knew that neither of them would probably want to come. Though he wouldn't ask them either way.

Romano returned from the kitchen with one of Antonio's fresh tomatoes in his hand. It wasn't going to fill him up, but he hadn't eaten all day and a hungry Italian was not a happy one.[Not that Romano was ever really that happy anyway.]

Plucking up his bag from where it had been discarded beside the couch he moved over to stand beside the Spaniard, tossing the idea of joining him over and over again in his head. Planning out enough reasons that would excuse him for going, reasons that strayed as far as possible from simply wanting to accompany his friend.
"I'm coming," He said finally with a pout, still refusing to lock eyes with Antonio. "I need to buy dinner anyway." And also look for another job, but he wouldn't let Antonio or Kim know about that.
Romano was not so quick to admit poverty as Antonio was.

Kim gave up on reading the magazine. It was too freaking dumb anyway, so she just threw it back on the little table next to the bench, leaning back.

Fine, grown woman? Wha? She looked at him for a second, feeling her cheeks heat up a little. What was that supposed to mean? And why the smug grin on his face? " He's not that bad." she said, knowing she was blushing a little, also wondering how long the interview was. Not that she was feeling uncomfortable, she could handle it if Romano got ..... rude. She just hoped Toni was ok, it would suck if he didn't get a job.

The grin Romano had put up was only enhancing his already good features. Dammit..... Quit blushing, Kimmy!

Romano had to restrain himself from grinning further with the onset of colour to her cheeks. If there was one thing he was good at, it was aimlessly flirting with women [he could thank his grandfather for that trait] and right now he had Kimmy, hook like and sinker.
"Hmph. Whatever. But you know.." He'd even almost managed not to swear all day, poor Kim probably had no idea what he was capable of. "If you ever get sick of him, you're welcome to come stay with us."

Of course he had little intention of following this up, Romano was just playing around.

Stay with them... Yeah... Right. Knowing Feli, he probably wouldn't mind having her over. But he'd said his brother didn't like company too much, so she didn't really say anything to that. " M-maybe..." she said, although not really meaning it. She was perfectly happy living with Toni.

If only her cheeks could calm down. He wasn't flirting. Of course not. Why would he flirt with her anyway? She sighed, leaning back on the bench, trying to calm herself. Romano was Toni's, and even if the guy probably was too stubborn to admit it or even realize it himself, she was determined to get the two to admit it to each other. Some way or another.

"Suit yourself," He got up, arms still folded behind his head and walked over to where she was sitting. Still grinning, one hand unlocked to run across her hair, silently amazed at how soft it actually was.
For one who condoned the earlier public display of affection, Romano had no problems with eliciting his own. His hand slid down to cup her ear, as the Italian offered a very fake, but almost promising caring smile.
He leaned forward, hazel eyes finding her own.
"Just hate for you to be unhappy, is all."

Antonio thought about what the Italian said for a minute and hesitating, looking at him out of the corner of his eye. He turned and was very tempted to hug him. The spanish man put his legs down and his palms onto the bench. Thankfully, his dignity wasn't as easily hurt as Romano's was, and he quickly wrapped his arms around the shorter man.

"But I wanted too" The spanish man whispered lightly before letting go. He then pushed himself up to a standing position once more and turned to look back at Romano, a light blush on his face at what he had done but deciding it was too late now. Antonio smiled lightly at the other man before holding out a hand to help him up, half expecing Romano to ignore him.

Eyes widened slightly as the distance between them closed. Antonio's arms wrapped around him and Romano remained completely motionless, his attention still very much locked on the floor.
He'd never really gotten used to the Spaniard's odd displays of affection, and this had unsettled him more than it rightfully should have.
Perhaps because he had wanted- no, needed- it then.

Stop blushing...stop blushing...god why the fuck was he blushing?
Romano jerked his head away, refusing to acknowledge the other man's similarly tinged complexion or outstretched hand. Reaching for his bag he quickly stood to his feet, striding past both Antonio and Kim and towards the door.
He must have a fever. That must be it. There was no other reason why he should react to something like that.
"Fine, whatever. Just hurry up already."

Toni hugging Romano was..... Actually extremely cute. When Romano stood up, she sorta snapped out of whatever daze she was in while Toni was talking to him. And were they blushing? They so were. She had to kill a giggle and smile, so instead she just bit her lip, watching Romano now stand up and head to the door, before she followed him, glancing back at Toni, seeing him blush.

Antonio watched as Romano strode past him and slipped his hand into his pocket. Had Romano actually blushed? He blinked a couple of times, the Italian's voice finally snapping him out of his daze and smiling at Kim. He even managed to blush a little more before heading after the two. He looked up at the clock on his way out and realized that he had ten minutes to get to his next interview.

Antonio hadn't realized that his news would affect Romano as much as it did. Even as the other man stood up and stormed out, the spanish man hesitated since he was worried about what would happened if he fallowed. Though, to be honest, he was more worried about what would happen if he didn't fallow and this was what brought him to action ( ... )

HO SNAP italian_honour September 3 2009, 07:57:38 UTC
He hadn't expected the other to follow. Romano would have been quite content with sitting on the corner out of sight and sulking in his own self pity-again, hell he would have gone home to vent if it didn't risk being around Feliciano.

Someone grabbed his arm and Romano snapped, spinning around with fist raised, ready to punch whoever had dared stop him. Sudden recognition meant nothing, and he would've punched Antonio anyway had the other not spoken first.
Romano faltered and stumbled, arm still raised in a faux-threat, as if he'd forgotten to lower it. It would've made sense too..his mind, his body, everything felt blank.
Antonio had never talked back to him before, had never challenged one of the Italian's verbal attacks or interrogated him like this. Usually he'd sigh and smile and Lo siento Lovi~ I didn't mean it and they'd go back to normal as if nothing had ever happened. Because Antonio would forgive him and...was that all part of the facade too ( ... )

Antonio winced lightly when the other man raised his arm as if he was going to punch him and let out a sigh of relief when the fist was lowered. He let out an almost inaudible sigh when the Italian responded with a question of his own. It wasn't as if he had expected the Italian to really answer him, but he didn't know what else to do. Everything in his life seemed to be changing around him and he didn't know how to process it half of the time. There was a chance that he wouldn't be coming back and it hadn't hit him until just now just how much that would hurt ( ... )

AND I'M TOO DEAD TO FIND AN APPROPRIATE ICON italian_honour September 3 2009, 08:34:29 UTC

Romano didn't bother arguing his defense, and settled for pouting at the ground. How could he object to that? He knew how important family was {especially when he was so lacking in such a department) and- as stubborn as Romano was- what right did he have to prioritise himself over Antonio's hospitalized mother.

A prolonged silence fell between them, and Romano began to pray that the other had not heard his protest. He hadn't meant to shout out..especially not something like that, something that he wasn't even convinced of himself.
He was still staring at the ground when the rough, calloused hand cupped his chin and guided his eyes upward. Emerald hues met his own, a smile he'd never seen before.
What was this..
The world seemed to slow and stop, the incessant chatter of the restaurant and drifting tyres against the road all put on mute, as if his own body was trying to convince him that yes, he was alive and yes, that was his heart beating...rapidly fast.
And then he kissed him. And Romano swore, for that moment, the world did stop ( ... )
