WHO: Antonio, Romano. Kim
WHEN: Saturday 29th, around 10am
WHERE: Antonio's apartment to begin with
WHAT: Toni needs a new job, Romano thinks he's retarded.
[ooc: Kimmy feel free to jump in as wel :3]
(
They say love is blind, but this is a god damn crime! )
Had he interrupted something? Antonio looked like he was getting ready to go out..
The very faint clanging of pots and utensils in the kitchen told him someone else was there, and Romano vaguely remembered Antonio saying something about having a room-mate. Perhaps they were-....no...if the Spaniard had a partner, he would have been told by now, right?
But if he did have a partner...that would mean he was straight, and all Romano's previous suspicions would be quenched out.
He wanted to be relieved by this, and surprised that someone out there may actually be fond of this bastard. But all attempts at lighter emotions hit the proverbial brick wall and left his mind blank. A not-so-small part of the Italian was already beginning to envy this intruder man/woman in preparation for the attention they would no doubt be stealing away from him. Antonio's attention.
Unfortunately this was merely a subconscious stream, and these emotions made no more sense to him consciously than a foreign language would, leaving Romano to and curse silently at himself for spacing out so easily.
And dammit what the hell was with that outfit?
"Brother told me you were dropping out of class," that was safer than saying he'd paid any attention to that damned blog, "Why the fuck would you do that? Are you really that retarded that you can't pass now?"
Good, blunt Romano. And he wasn't even through the door yet.

"It's not that. For your information I was actually passing them all with straight A's. I just-" Antonio cut himself off, hesitating. He really didn't know how much he wanted to let on to how bad his family situation was. He had already been confronted by Kim about why he had gone back home so suddenly and why he was dropping out of his classes but had managed to avoid telling her. The spanish man knew that if he told anyone it would be Romano since they were best friends but inwardly he fought with himself over whether he needed to tell him or not.
"I don't have the money too go anymore" There. That would cover an explanation, at least for now. He honestly didn't know how far Romano was going to push it but figured that his pause would raise suspicion. The last thing he wanted to do was have to go back to Spain and help his family directly that way, but if he didn't get a job that was what most likely was going to happen.
"Kimmy! I have someone for you too meet!" He called out, turning away from Romano so that the other wouldn't have a choice to inquire further about his dropping out of class. He was pretty sure that the Italian wouldn't come with him to go look for a job and would probably go back home as soon as Antonio left. Even if Antonio did want to spend more time with Lovi he really didn't have a choice right now. Today was set aside for finding another job.

Romano may be severely dim-witted at times, but even he could tell when something was up. A person's financial standing didn't often change that dramatically in a week unless they had a severe gambling problem, or were blackmailed.
Romano seriously hoped it was neither-especially the latter, he didn't want to have to drag Antonio into his family's mess as well.
The Spaniard turned his back to call to "Kimmy" and Romano was left to stand clueless in the entrance hall. Kimmy definitely sounded like a spouse name...perhaps she was the reason he was suddenly so poor. Romano was quite sure the Spanish didn't insist on arranged marriages though.
Leaning forward to peer past Antonio Romano got a better look inside the house. It seemed so much smaller since the last time he'd been there, but that was probably to be expected with another person staying there too.
Lifting his head Romano averted his gaze to the kitchen, waiting in anticipation to see who this "Kimmy" person was.

At the moment, she was making pho and some tomato soup, not really feeling like any breakfast-like food at the moment. She was almost done when she heard the door, and Toni was now talking to someone. Did he say Lovi? And after that, he called her name, sorta startling her. Luckily she wasn't holding a knife, or else she might've had an accident.
Quickly washing her hands in the sink, she came out from the kitchen, and saw the stranger. She smiled a bit. " Hi." she said.

Kim made her appearance, and Romano was unsettled by an unexpected rush of relief. Not wanting to dwell on the odd timing [why the hell was he relieved that she wasn't a 30 year old married woman? In fact there was 10 years between them ] he readjusted his stance and regained his composure, lifting his head to offer her a ghosted smile.
This girl...he'd seen her before. His brother's party, he was sure he'd seen her there.
"It's nice to meet you, Kim." To any third party, Romano's sudden shift in manners would seem quite weird, but he deemed it very much necessary. After all this was a girl, and as a proper Italian gentleman he was required to show at least some semblance of kindness.
Unfortunately, online at least, the terms Romano and Kim were on varied greatly so he wasn't quite sure how she'd respond. At least he hoped they were on good terms still.

Romano was dressed surprisingly casually; jeans and a white-collared shirt, with a shoulder-bag hanging lifelessly off his right arm. Tentatively stepping into the apartment [for he was still half-way through the door] he tilted his head back to look Antonio once over again, still not quite used to seeing him dressed up.
Romano sighed and spun his body around to plant himself at a 60 degree angle in between both of them, thumbs looped very casually into the pockets of his jeans.
Leaning forward slightly to scowl at the Spaniard, it was clear Romano wouldn't drop the subject so easily.
"Go on. If you're going out somewhere you better tell me what the hell happened, right now."
Romano was not there to flirt with Kim, and so the amount of kindness and attention directed towards the girl had nose-dived significantly on his priority list. While he'd never tell Antonio about his family crisis, Romano found the man's personal life every bit his business and-as highly hypocritical as it was- had arrived on his doorstep with every intention of finding out.

The spanish man couldn't help but feel a gentle pang of jealousy at the way Romano treated Kimmy, or well...every female he came in contact with usually. Deep down he wished that the other man would treat him in the same way. However, he quickly squished the feeling knowing that it was a stupid one.
"Well I actually have an interview in about-" Antonio looked up at the clock, "a little under an hour. So I really should get going" He said, beaming widely. He really didn't want to share what had happened. His family business was his, even if he knew there was no point in trying to keep it from either of them seeing as they would both force it out of him eventually. He let out a deep sigh, shifting from one leg to the other nervously but quickly stopping that once he realized what he was doing.
"Its private" He finally said, looking from Romano to Kimmy and back again when he realized that the Italian probably wasn't going to let him leave until he gave him something to work with. He slipped both hands into his pockets, and tried to force a relaxed pose but found that it wasn't working so instead simply tried to think of something, anything, else.
Like Tomatoes. Those would never do anything to hurt him! The spanish man turned his attention over to the pot where his tomato plants were growing and found that the sunflowers were completely grown. Finally, he thought of something else to think about and tried to find a time when he could take the sunflower to his Russian friend like he had wanted too all along.

Kim returned to the kitchen to get the food, her stomach was growling a bit. And she hadn't eaten pho since the sleepover last weekend. For some reason, thinking back on the sleepover made her feel almost worried. Mostly cause she couldn't remember whatever they did after it got pretty late, and she hadn't talked much to Lenna or Mei during the week. She'd seen them at school and all, but they never talked about the sleepover. Maybe for a good reason....
Shrugging it off, she picked up a bowl with the pho, and went back into the living room, eating it. Man, that tasted good now.... Smiling, she sat down in the couch. The TV was on. Some weird Spanish soap, with German subtitles for some reason. Oh, well. At least the lead actor was cute.

Besides, Romano knew all too well the importance of 'private family matters,' and while that usually wouldn't have stopped him from pressuring Antonio, at the moment he just really couldn't be bothered.
It wasn't often that Antonio gave hesitation to a conversation with Romano [the rarity of such an occasion was enough to make anyone jump for the opportunity] so with such a short answer alone, he knew it must've been important.
"Just don't overwork yourself, bastard. I don't want to have to put up with all your whining." Romano muttered, head lowered with chin against his shoulder, refusing to make eye contact.
Kim's departure had left an awkward stillness in the air, one that always seemed to bother Romano when neither snapping nor complaining could appropriately disperse it. Shifting uncomfortably his attention was also drawn to the tv, scoffing at the combination of Spanish and German in some terribly over-acted soap drama.
Turning his back to Antonio he wandered further into the house (completely ignoring the Spaniard's warning of having to leave soon) to stand beside the couch Kim was on, watching the soap with little to no interest.
Did she seriously like this crap?
Raising an eyebrow his averted his gaze to look down at her, and whatever the hell she was eating. "You seriously enjoy this?"

She swallowed the piece of pho she'd taken, and looked up at Romano, before back at the TV. What the hell were they saying anyway? With a quick flick on the remote, it turned over to some action movie. Oh, well, this one at least had english actors, so she could understand what was going on. Not that she really cared much.
" Not really." she said, simply ignoring whatever tense atmosphere had occured the ten seconds she'd left for the kitchen. The pho was just so delicious! And also, she was trying to think of a way to get the two boys together somehow.

Bullshit English acting with a bullshit English plot. You'd never find any of this low-budget crap in Italy, he was sure of it.
Romano didn't last long. All it took was a few moments for him to decide that he was bored and get up again, glancing back to Antonio before inviting himself into the kitchen and subsequently the fridge and cupboard.
"Oi, Antonio. What sort of food dya have?"
He hadn't eaten that morning, as a means of saving food and money, especially when he knew he could get something at Antonio's. He hadn't planned for the Spaniard being poor...
Ah well. Romano's attention was diverted to the row of plants growing under the sun- Antonio did owe him a tomato afterall...
