My sense is Barrayaran political gap between Our Heroes (whose day-to-day politics are seemingly somewhere to the right of 19th century Liberal Unionists) and Leftist Terrorist Assassins is profoundly artificial when you get down to it. A lot of issues are being carefully avoided.

I want to give a signed copy of Cryoburn to my brother for Christmas. Except that I live in Europe, which makes it a little difficult to go to a signing.

I re-read A Civil Campaign recently. One of the characters wondered about whether a certain Vor should be addressed as Madame or Lady, which made me realize I wasn't entirely sure what the criteria are.
