I came home this afternoon and did some of the cleaning I'd neglected this week. Did the usual, start in the kitchen wash any pots and pans leftover, load the dishwasher, sweep the floor etc. continue through the house--dining room, living room, bedrooms, bath...mop--that whole thing. I missed the deadline to enter my strawberry jam in the State Fair...I'm oddly upset about this. I've always wanted to have something entered in the Fair, and for this year at least, I've missed my opportunity. Now I'll have to go and stare cattily at the winning jar of berry jam ( Read more... )

Some time ago, I suspected that our washer might not be doing as good a job on the comforters as I expected, but couldn't really confirm that the comforters weren't being properly cleaned. Awhile back however, the cat vomited on the bedspread one morning, prompting me to change the sheets. I washed said bedspread, dried it, and put it away. Today ( Read more... )
