Katie is dying. She seems to have had a stroke. She won't eat her noms, which were her favorite thing ever. I'm going to spend as much time with her as I can. She still likes to press faces, so we'll do that.

Spent the day with my good friends and their pretty dolls. Toasted what would have been my dad's 64th birthday with an expensive bottle of wine, shared with my family. Then the dogs tried to cheer us up with their antics, and we allowed ourselves to laugh.

My dad and I collected cat hair from the couches and needle felted it into teddy bears. His was perfect. Mine looked like a deformed gummy bear.

When I awoke, it took me a moment to remember that he was dead. Then I went back to sleep and woke up an hour later, completely disoriented.
