Let it be known that I got just as worried as anyone at word that Disney has bought Marvel, and what that's going to mean for our favourite superheroes and whatnot.
Seriously. My first thoughts ran much along the line of Mercedes' (who I hope will forgive me for quoting her here):
Marvel is about violence and women in very skimpy clothes and who's

However, I've also seen the point made that Disney could just be all "LOL WE OWN YUSE!!" and not do anything with Marvel. Which then begs the question: would Disney letting Marvel continue down the road it's on and being very laissez-faire about owning Marvel be worse than Disney injecting even a little bit of it's brand into Marvel? And since I kind of can't decide, I'm rooting for the "Aw man, this is gonna be awesome!" turn of events.
And as for the quoting thing, feel free! No forgiving needed; I'm actually tickled pink you did so!

If, however, they do make the Disney Children the next GenX? I will be among the first to take up my pitchfork.
(Thanks for the reassurance regarding the quote. You made a good -- and funny! -- point there, and it summed up my thoughts better than I could have probably articulated them. The fact that you're tickled pink just makes it even better.)

That's because Eisner is no longer behind the wheel.

DAMMIT YES GAMBIT DOES. As does Wolverine, and I'm pretty sure the Punisher if memory serves. Joe Quesada's decisions as the head of Marvel, outside of green-lighting the "Dark Tower" adaptation have been sketchy. OH SPIDERMAN. AND THAT IS ALL.
(Did I tell you about the pannel I went to at the Emerald City Con? One of the artists was asked which of two characters would win in a fight. The artist didn't know, so he called Joe. Joe's response to this burning inquiry was for the artists *%&$ off. Joe then told the audience they could *%&$ off too. It was funny at the time, but LORDY I AM FRUSTRATED BY HIM.)
With a little luck, maybe the Mouse will make some changes for the better in that area. It's a faint hope, but who knows.
Kickass Rogue looks like she might be on her way back as of X-Men:Legacy 226-227. I won't share details if you don't want to be spoiled, but if you were to ask I would not be adverse to squeeing.

You know that she's pretty much had her brain cleaned out as of late, right? All the psyches are gone save for mommy dearest And her powers are now reduced and controlled (or so it appears), to the point where she and Gambit tentatively reunite and make out and it is ALL GOOD. In these issues, she pretty much absorbs a MUTHA-EFFIN' GOD, and proceeds to gives Miss Marvel (who is now working for HAMMER and is aware of Rogue's reduced capacity, but not the fact that she's currently running on GOD JUICE AND IMMORTALITY) the WHAT FOR. I'm going to scan this for you, because it is SO EFFING BEAUTIFUL, and I will not deny the fact that I wept for joy at seeing her kick some major ass.

I don't think this is going to mean much more than spider-man based rides at their theme parks and old walt getting the first dibs on characters for movies and the like.

Yeah, well. All sorts of studios do dumb stuff like that to great animes or animated films from abroad, forgetting that some people would PREFER to have that option. And they wonder why people turn to piracy.

Well, that and Eye-patches.
