So, Disney bought Marvel.

On the one hand, that's a LOT of money for Marvel. This could mean more movies, cartoons, please GOD ACTION FIGURES. Let's face it, The Mouse owns EVERYTHING. It's financed wondrous creations like Gargoyles and everything Pixar has ever done ( Read more... )

I very much doubt there will be a content change at all. Considering that Miramax was bought out by them completely in '03, and movies like the Kill Bill series, No Country for Old Men, and There Will Be Blood came out after that point....yeah.

Yeah. XD Actually, the company I work for is owned by the mouse as well (acquisition went through in 07) and they haven't had an impact on our product besides financing. Even though we're in the same demographic as Disney's core group (ie: kids). Bob Iger also has a bit more respect for the properties Disney acquires than say, Eisner had (see: Pixar, which still runs independently from the main Disney unit and has creative freedom under Iger, as apposed to when Eisner was running around being a bastard with Pixar's properties ( ... )

Oh, so Eisner's out.VERY good to know. IIRC, he started out really well when Disney needed a control freak to gather and brand itself but that didn't work out too well in the later years.

Yeah. He managed to recoup a bunch of losses from the eighties, but he started strapping himself into the drivers seat and made the big focus money. Got so bad that Roy Disney even walked out on the company (though he's back now as a consultant, after heading up the board members who eventually ousted Eisner)

First thing Iger did when he took over was run around and apologize to everyone Eisner insulted it seems.
