I was feeling pretty brave when we walked up to the chapel at the cemetary for Ellen's funeral. I didn't think I was going to cry. Today was really tough ...

"I'm fighting tides of an ocean's undertow and I figure that I might not make it ..."

I don't want to go into it because I want to sleep on it. I'm hoping it seems better tomorrow.

Today was weird. Usually there's a sing stuck in my head. Maybe even several across the day ... but today, just lines from various songs. A couple dozen of them. It did my head in. I haven't been in the greatest headspace today though.

One of my favourite lyrics ever is still "You brighten my life like a polystyrene hat".

Feeling better about things today. Lots of chats to various people at work. I was meant to be there on Saturday night. It was okay for me to be there. I wasn't the most important person in the room, Christian, Alice and Ellen would not have minded that I was in the room at that moment. So yesterday Mum and I drove to Geelong for 'Family Day' at Kardinia Park. The whole way there (over an hour) it was like a convoy of Geelong fans driving ... we all had our scarves hanging out the windows, flags out the windows, signs in windows etc. Was so awesome ( Read more... )
