My Monkey-girl is getting tubes put in her ears tomorrow morning. We've been on a wait list to have it done for nearly four months, and we got the call last week with the surgery date

I don't know what they're like where you are, but everyone that I've worked with on Monkey's speech was amazing, and really supportive. And once she got going, she kind of just flew. Hopefully it's something they can give you some help with.
Sending good vibes. I'm sure she'll be fine. I had lots of ear surgeries when I was super young and honestly, when you're that little you just remember sleeping a lot because of the meds. It's not terribly traumatic from the kid POV.
That was really good to know, what you said about the ear surgeries. Barely a day later, she's doing really well, and I don't think she's got any lasting hospital induced trauma.
She's got a wicked little smile. Every time I see her pull that one out, I'm usually grinning too.
See, this is what I keep hearing, so as much as I've been tense about it, I've been even MORE tense waiting for the damned surgery date! So I'm really, really glad that it's happened, it's done, and now we can move forward and see how she rolls with it.

It never, ever is. I just hope that we're going to get past the never-ending string of ear infections now, and get her speech on track.
