When I was little and had a loose tooth, I had to put myself under the radar so my dad wouldn't try to "help" me take it out. I came to the ripe ol' age of 29 yesterday.

I had given up on the novelty of birthdays, I was in no mood for the whole thing, having been less than thrilled with things of late. The day was full of surprises and I feel like I slid into my new year with grace and a sweet, stupid grin on my face.

I feel very blessed.

I had my Chevy washed at Dirty Harry's car wash this afternoon ... a lady worked in harmony with the equipment in a wet suit. A lady in a wet suit, in the car wash. Spraying Chevy down with her hose like the car was her elephant in the parking lot at the circus.

Yesterday I sang in church with my choir ... the pastor, Matt, loves our ensemble and makes it a point to tell us often, giving my being there a real sense of purpose. Not everyone may love the choir as much as Matt does, but it is so cool to see him sitting in his chair, rosy cheeked like a santa claus, his black robe sweeping the floor with his ( Read more... )
