today while over at a friend's house in the hills, we spotted a baby wild finch that looked like it had fallen from the nest, or was injured or something. when we attempted to catch it, it was def. not skilled at flying (yet) and ended up getting trapped under her woodpile. we rescued it from there and it appeared fine (although crawling with mites ( Read more... ) -

yesterday, Chico, Bean, and i went to the vet. Chico was getting his monthly recheck about his beak "flossing", medication, and plucking. Bean went along because she had a red puffy eye ring on one side and i wanted it checked out. and of course i went because birds cannot drive ( Read more... ) -

a visit to The Oasis!
last weekend i was in AZ. i was having the first board meeting of our new non-profit parrot welfare organization, All Things Feathered, as well as taking a much anticipated trip to The Oasis, a parrot sanctuary. it is an amazing place and deserves your support!

here is a toy that i made for my Budgies. finding a foraging toy that accomodates Budgie sized pellets is tough... so i made my own! we are busy working on a new foraging line exclusively for the Store, and one of the goals are toys for small parrots as well as ones designed for pellets and wet foods, not just "treats".
