For the 2nd 30 Days of flashfic prompt #17, "write an uncomfortable story". Well, it's certainly uncomfortable for Barclay.
Summary: Barclay from A story set in three time periods ( (LJ link for same) and A vanilla story on a kinky subject ( (LJ link for same) Set after the second part of the three parter, and around the time of the vanilla story.

An hour after lunch was over Barclay had finally had the chance to get a sandwich from the kitchen. He had just finished his meal when Master came into the kitchen to speak to the cook. Putting his plate and glass in the sink he jumped when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Barclay. I've been meaning to call for you, boy. Come walk with me."

Turning he found Master already leaving the kitchen and hurried to follow. Soon he found himself heading out through the house's front entrance and down a path heading into the trees that surrounded three sides of the house.

"Your Mistress and I were surprised when Caera decided to take you back to her rooms instead of selecting from the harem."

"Yes Master." Adding after a moment, "I was surprised as well."

About the time the trees made the house fade from view the path turned to the side and started climbing a low hill. Master didn't slow and still didn't look back, leaving Barclay to push harder to keep up with him. Neither of them talking until the reached the top and a small deck. In the distance Barclay could see some of the fields that provided much of the family's food, small shapes he could just make out as people moving among the crops.

"Take a good look. Those of you working inside are not lazy, but if you ever think you have a hard life remember those in the fields. If we offered them the chance at your position they would do most anything to have it. Working inside, out of the dirt, and a better chance of being seen and promoted. Have you ever worked out in the fields?"

"No Master." Was Master upset with him? He'd done all he was asked to do. He hadn't been complaining about anything.

"I want you to understand something Barclay, this isn't about you. Right now I'm not talking to you as your Master, I'm talking to you as Caera's father. The father of the girl who has been taking you to bed for more than a month now. The girl who has taken you out into town a few times. I need you to understand something. You are going to listen very closely, aren't you Barclay."

Turning back to his Master, Barclay nodded quickly. "I'll pay very close attention Master."

"Good. You need to understand something. Caera is my youngest daughter. She is always going to be my baby girl, no matter how much it may annoy her to her me say that now. If there is one thing fathers have always known it is that someday some boy is going to start spending time with their baby girl. And fathers were once boys and we remember what we were like. Do you see where this is going Barclay?"

"Yes Master. I will be very, very good. My best behavior. And if I do anything bad I go out in the fields."

"Close, but you're on the right path. Listen very well Barclay, chances are Caera will eventually become bored with you. When that happens it won't be held against you. You won't be asked to return any gifts she might give you, it will simply mean she stops calling for you. If you're very well behaved then perhaps she will keep you, and I won't oppose this. You've always been a good boy, worked hard with hardly a complaint, rarely the one to start any trouble. That's why your Mistress and I haven't tried to stop Caera from seeing you."

"Thank you Master."

Master grabbed his chin and squatted to look him straight in the eyes. "Keep one thing in mind. If you ever stop behaving, if you ever make my baby girl cry, if you should ever do anything to hurt her you had better pray that her Mother finds you first. Because if you hurt her and I get you first you will regret it for a long, long time. You will find there are far worse things that can happen to you than a spanking or being sent out to the fields."

Releasing his chin Master stood again and looked back out at the fields. "As I said, this isn't personal, I have nothing against you. If Caera wants to keep seeing you I won't try to stop it. It's her decision. Just keep what I've told you in mind. And you never know, keep behaving and perhaps more good things can come for you."

With that Master walked back to the path and headed home. Barclay followed and returned to his chores, simply shaking his head and keeping at his work when asked by the other slaves what Master had wanted with him.
