IDK, My BFF Mom?
Okay! So I didn't post yesterday because I went to the grocery store to stock up for this *NOT* hurricane we are apparently *NOT* having. I bought steaks to grill tonight and fully planned on getting out of work at noon to have to run home from the weather, and then I was going to sit in front of my 9' windows and watch the storm. Apparently, all that prep for nothing....Ah well. That's a good thing.

Is anyone else's mother a 13-year-old girl?
Last week I read The Devil Wears Plaid. You guys, I am *so* disappointed in Teresa Medeiros. She wrote, hands down, bar none, my *all-time favorite* romance novel, Once An Angel and my *second all-time favorite* romance novel, Thief Of Hearts, and she basically just recreated ToH with TDWP. Like, even sort of re-used her own dialogue and plot-point-for-plot-point re-used her own scenes. And she's been steadily going downhill with the last three books. I'm so, so disappointed. Why do I let these things affect me so? And it would be okay, I guess, but she seems to be getting more and more enamored with herself lately?
I started reading Sundays At Tiffany's. I've never read a James Patterson book before, and so far I'm fairly hooked in, more so than any Nicholas Sparks business or whatnot. This is the dedication in the front of the book:
"When my son, Jack, was four, I had to make a trip to Los Angeles. I asked him if he was going to miss me. 'Not so much,' Jack told me. 'You're not going to miss me?' I said. Jack shook his head, and he said, 'Love means you can never be apart.'"
That's a very cute story. I totally don't believe him. Four-year-olds, especially four-year-old boys, do not talk like that. Ali McGraw talks like that.
Okay, I know it's not *faithful* to the books, but in terms of how amazing these movies are...

*I don't know why it only says Return Of The King in the beginning. Maybe the first two titles got cut off.

PETER PAN
Pretty much totally faithful to the book (other than the Aunt Millicent bit in the beginning, don't know what that was about). You know I have a soft spot for this.
THE OUTSIDERS
A couple of years ago they came out with the movie re-cut to be *exactly* the novel, line for line, which I was *very* impressed with. And this is so sentimental to see all these guys as babies. (Oh, Patrick.)
