Love Fridays...Love getting home from work early...
So? Last night I found the 30 Days of Reading and 30 Days of Writing meme's. Here is your chance to tune out if you're getting sick of this! There's also 30 Days of Me that I've got lined up. I'm thinking it will definitely take me up to holiday fic-exchange season.
Okay, it's not the most classically talented cast, but for overall cast chemistry, I'd have to say...
THE FAMILY STONE
The trailer is very deceptive for what you're really getting in the movie. What you're getting is the most likable SJP has ever been, and the most fabulously composed movie family I've ever seen. They are just so *believable* as siblings, parents, the in-laws, and the way they blend in. It's all very clear how the family roles were carved out, Everett as the over-compensating oldest, Ben the slacker 'prodigal son', Thad the family heart (everyone is so protective and loving towards him and the scene at the dinner table on Christmas Eve between him and Diane Keaton...you knew their whole history, right then and there). Amy as the bratty 'baby', even as an adult, when she's home with her loving older siblings, it's so easy for her to just fall into that role. And I also really love Susanna, who might not make a huge impression the first time you watch (but as I watch it nearly every day in December, non-stop, I've picked up on these things). I love, love, LOVE this movie. And then there's the lovely epilogue where we basically see the development of Amy and Brad's relationship over a year in the span of forty-five seconds in the last shot, and it just works so perfectly.

This is an odd question. Because I don't really listen to the radio, because I'm not driving every day, and if I heard a song on the radio often, chances are I would get sick of it. And I hate turning on the radio and hearing the last bit of your new favorite song, or hearing it halfway through. I don't know, I guess a song that I wish had spent more time in heavy rotation is...
BEYONCE-IF I WERE A BOY
And I don't even really care for Beyonce all that much. But considering how so many of her other songs stay on the radio for years, I really could have spent more time with this one. I really, really love this song. I've toyed with the idea of doing a general mix about being a teenaged girl and this would probably be the title track.

JESUS & LAFAYETTE (TRUE BLOOD)
Odd choice, maybe? They're not exactly the fluffiest characters, they both have pretty dark pasts (from what we know of Jesus anyway). Nelsan Ellis gave this interview when season 3 was gearing up about how "Lafayette never even dreamed of a real relationship, he always thought it was never in the cards for him". And how sad is that? But just look at how they light up with each other. Lafayette's scene starts at 1:58 and Jesus comes in soon after.
