Long time, no see, LJ friends
It's been about 2 year since I last posted in here. For those of you keeping track, I have recovered from my hysterectomy (which happened in December 2018) & I am fast approaching my 48th birthday (June 29th!). All in all, life is good. Just wanted to jump on here and say a quick hello to everyone!

A week post-op (from my hysterectomy)
It's been a week since my laproscopic hysterectomy (they took my uterus, cervix, & fallopian tubes, leaving my ovaries in). I'm healing well. It turns out that I had a fibroid on the outside of my uterus & other benign growths on my fallopian tubes, so this surgery was actually a good call. Healthy Eating Habits
In my journey to eating healthy over the past few years, I have noticed that there are times when it is easier to eat healthy and times when it is much more challenging. I hate that my class about privilege and oppression may never be a history class. We have far too many things happening DAILY. And the sad truth, as I tell my students, is that I can't honestly foresee that changing in my lifetime. An update on my cancer scare
At the end of May I had a mammogram. It had been 2 years since my last one. But this one came back with "irregularities" that required further testing. So, two weeks later, I get two more mammograms & an ultrasound of both breasts. They tell me I have 2 masses in my left breast - one is a cyst, the other is not.
