The conversation must be had...
I hate that my class about privilege and oppression may never be a history class. We have far too many things happening DAILY. And the sad truth, as I tell my students, is that I can't honestly foresee that changing in my lifetime. BUT we CAN work toward that change & fight the systemic bias & oppression that continues to create situations that lead to death & disadvantage. I know what we will be talking about for the first hour of class tonight, and it breaks my heart. But talk we must, because this can't be ignored.
