this one doesn't require any thought on my part.
hands down, its the death of Dobby. i know i cried when i read it in the book and i cried when i saw the movie. i just couldn't help myself. he was such a positive little guy and he did his absolute best to help Harry. not just in DH, but on several occasions. from the very first time he shows up in Chamber of Secrets to that last bit of him in Deathly Hallows, he was truly Harry's friend. and i found it so irrational that he had to die. just... ugh. i really questioned what she was doing in the last book.
it was unfair that so many people around Harry had to die. Hedwig, Dobby, one of the twins, Remus and Tonks, Mad Eye... yeah, i get that it was war. i understand that people are going to die during war. but seriously? all of Harry's closest friends? weird as it is, i wasn't even as upset about Snape's death. (then again, he lives on in fan fiction, so...) i just didn't see any reason for Dobby to have died. sure, he sacrificed himself and he did it willingly. i just can't get over the fact that it almost seemed like she was killing characters off because she was bored with them or something.
Dobby's death was so wrong and i really hated it.
