Help wanted: Story stuck in mid-stream.

I've got a stalled AU in au_with_me Clark Kent: For the Defense I haven't posted a new part since March 17! I know that things have been a bit crazy since this spring with both work and RL, but this story needs a serious kick in the pants. Anyone got any ideas? Any at all?

The basic premise of the story:

Attorney Clark Kent is drawn back into the life ( Read more... )

Oh Gosh, any other time, I would have been thrilled to offer to beta but I have officially set up residence in hell's innermost ring. Between classes and work, there are days when I can barely blink. Sorry I can't help right now. Maybe later on I can assist with beta duties on this or another story.

Dear, the story would drive an "official beta" nuts at this point. I really only was asking for any off the cuff criticisms anyone might want to make that might help jumpstart this puppy.

I hope that things get better. I know of where you speak. Life's been that way for me since March.

I must be out of it, because I don't ever recall seeing this story!

Love the premise.

Well, it was started quite a while ago and hasn't been updated since March. Hope that you enjoy what's there.

I was going to ask you if you've seen Justice yet (with Victor Garber and Kerr Smith). Because the whole series is about a high-priced defense firm, complete (at least in the first ep) with the document production from hell (in my case it was 100,000 pages of exhibits with. no. staples. Here the pages were stapled together after they were sorted into a totally random order).

And one of the commentators described Kerr Smith's character as "The All-American Face of Not Guilty." 8-D

Actually, I haven't. I'll have to record an episode and take a look.

IMHO, Lillian did it.

She killed Genevieve to free Jason up to get back together with Lex, whom she believes is still carrying a torch for Jason.

Unfortunately for Lillian, Jason really does love Lana, and Lex's lovesick state is due to his perception that his thing for Clark is unrequited. Which it totally isn't.

Lillian is a good candidate. She had access to the stones. She does mistakenly think that Jason and Lex want to get back together.

I really need to finish this story.

I watched CSI:NY last night and the stone as a murder weapon doesn't seem quite so farfetched anymore.
