You find yourself looking up verb tenses and spelling.

Past tense of MEDEVAC is MEDEVACed. Technically MEDEVAC isn't really a verb (it's short for Medical Evacuation) and shouldn't have a tense. But due to popular parlance, it's defied grammar.

I've been on a very long hiatus from writing. I don't count writing audits and personnel reviews as writing.

But I did have fun with writing my "introduction to mangement" blurb for our division newsletter in Bulwer-Lytton format this last week. It was fabulously horrible. I only wonder how many of group will even get it.

I got a review a few days ago for a piece of Sentinel fiction I wrote ten years ago. The reader actually liked the story and the review led me to my web page to re-read it and a few others.

Try reading some of the Harry Potter fanfic on ff.net written by teenagers. And I'm not talking about the ones written by non-native English speakers.

Do they even teach spelling and grammar any more? Has Text Messaging made it impossible for young people to use punctuation?

I've had to drop out of the sv_renaissance Stephen King challenge.

I wish I could finish a story for the challenge, but it's just not happening.

The ideas are there, but the words aren't.
