OK SO: I come here with nothing useful. BUT. I have a question: what is Victorious and why should I watch it? :D

Victorious is a sitcom on Nickelodeon about 7 kids who go to an arts-centric High School in Hollywood. It is ridiculous. And wonderful.

The "lead", Tori, happens into the school by chance and is a total dork. And completely, utterly gay I'm pretty sure. Her sister, Trina, has no talent and is ... the most amazingly selfish creature that ever existed. I ship her and Robbie like burning (a boy who honestly believes his ventriloquist dummy that he carries with him every where is a LEGITIMATELY separate entity from himself). There's also Andre - a playa-playa musician with a (possibly schizophrenic) paranoid grandmother he must care for. Cat - the "humor" of the show (think Phoebe from Friends), who is infantilized by the series while she simultaneously throws herself at boys left and right. The couple (at 16 had been together for 2yrs): Beck and Jade. They are gorgeous. Pretty much. He is so pretty girls follow him and stroke his hair in public. And he's stupid talented, in that pretentious way that serious!actors often are. She's... ( ... )

I should not have looked at LJ ten minutes before I have to go set up for an event that's lasting until midnight. I WANNA READ AND FLAIL AND EMOTE SO BAD AND I HAVE ZERO TIME GODDAMN IT. But do you know what I have tomorrow? No class and no work. And do you know what I will be doing? ALL OF THE READING AND FLAILING AND EMOTING. But for now I must go put on a school-sponsored halloween party for college kids...

I don't even know what to do with myself right now, because this is so perfect. Like, I seriously think you are a mind reader or something, because this is the Jade story that I have been desperately wanting, but unable to find and then you wrote it and it's amazing. Because, just, yes. YES to all the insecurities and it not being about winning, just about ~not losing. And she wants things so much, and she tries so hard, and she never gets as far as she wants to (I try so hard and I'm never the one). Also, I'm amused because I have a collapsed word doc that I started working on last week and it is super similar to the 'Jade working and working and working and Beck being there and sort of silently supportive' threads of this story. Great minds think alike?

It felt so... selfish? IDEK if that's the right way to say it, but it was so personal cathartic to write (because I overidentify with Jade so hard)... So I'm glad you liked it, too!

I loved the tiny little descriptions of what everyone was doing at Tori's house, and later how Jade knew everyone was asleep. Because I kink!family these kids SO HARD. And of COURSE Jade knows everything that everyone is doing - and notices the little details (that Robbie is not one of the boys, that Tori and Cat LOVE EACH OTHER, etc.) It makes me happier than it should to imagine all of these kids just lazing around together.

It was pretty cathartic to read, as well. Because I'm right there with you on the overidentifying, and I get the feeling that, unlike with Beck, we're overidentifying in pretty much the same way...

It was pretty cathartic to read, as well. I'm so glad! ((And I feel that we are having the same-same Jade feels. Which is awesome.))

Jade/Tori is lovely and painful and just. Gods I love them like WHAT.

Right? She gets them into so much crap, but everyone loves her, and it's pretty cute. I'm so "if I love you and you love something, I'll love it too" and ... so I love Tori because they love her. It works for me! (It's like someone wrote this show for me and it just... IDEK how that happened? All the threesomes and the love and the drama-kids and the family!kinks... how did this happen?)

Not because they don't want to be together, but because they can't imagine not being together, and the ( ... )
