Favorite Underrepresented Muppet?

I'm sort of in an odd mood, so here's an odd sort of question.

Everyone thinks of a particular muppet when they think of Jim Henson. Generally, it's someone like Kermit, Miss Piggy, Oscar the Grouch, or Bert (or Ernie). ...but most of us who grew up with them have a particular oddball favorite. Perhaps it's the Honkers from Sesame Street. ( Read more... )

These days, Grover, who has fallen by the wayside due to the rise of Elmo.

But for really obscure, I love the Dancing Slinkies and the Forest Animals. "Stop, children, what's that sound, everybody look what's going down...."

Hm, I think the Kermitage is Muppet-Show-only. Luckily the main Sesame Street Muppets all appeared as guest stars, but that may not work for minor characters.

True, but I couldn't find a comperable site for the other Henson productions, like Sesame Street, Dark Crystal, Fraggle Rock, and the like.

...though I do like me some Dozers.

Oooh. Thanks. That's worthy of another edit of the original post.

Waldorf and Statler, for years I did not know their names. I always just thought of them as "the critics".
I also really like the Seven Foot Tall Talking Carrot, Sweetums, there are also some random monsters I remember from Sesame Street.

As for popular muppets, I love grover, gonzo, and bert and ernie (especially the episode where bert has a purple hand)...

God, the carrot. There's a blast.

Though I must say, speaking of food, that Cookie Monster has always been my personal anthropomorphic conception of my id. I have a sweet tooth the size of Seattle, so....

You, sir, have struck a chord in my Muppet Loving Heart.

Much loved characters (from any Henson project) include Sweetums, Fizzig, Hoggle, the Trash Heap (Fraggle Rock), Uncle Traveling Matt, The Yip Yip Yip aliens, and many more. but right now work beckons and I need to finish it so I can go home.

I have to vote for Robin, Kermit's nephew. He was always one of my favorites, but not appreciated enough, in my opinion.

Oh! Also, Slimy, Oscar's worm friend, isn't appreciated enough, or the Tweedlebugs, who I do a mean impression of. BTW, robotnik sent me here. :)

I noticed a few names I didn't expect to see commenting here that I'd seen in that Bostonian-gamer-circle crew that robotnik and I both ran in back in the day. Welcome. :)

...and honestly, I only vaguely remember Slimy, though I do recall Fluffy, his pet elephant.

Oh, Slimy was great! But I don't remember Fluffy. And Pepe the Prawn? Another good one! I always identify with the little ones, cause I've always been little, too! :)

though my favorite is Beaker all the way (I often times even channel Beaker...in a matter of speaking...er sqeeking) but one of my other favorites in the "Munuminum Monster" who I don't actually know the name of. But he would get all into the Munuminuming, and then be shot down, and it was sad.

According to the Kermitage, his name was Mahna Mahna.
