Today is July 7th, 2007, or, in a different notation, 07/07/07. Three sevens. It is supposed to bring good luck.

It is hot and humid outside, I spent some time in the pool but didn't last too long! But, I love summer.

After two weeks of collecting unemployment, I am back in the world of work! I am now sitting at my new cubicle, filling out all kinds of forms. My new company has all the standard bells and whistles for benefits, plus some more exotic perks such as subsidized health club membership, the whole Christmas week off, and a pet care program. Yesterday, Maryann and I had our Valentine's date at the 1789 restaurant in Georgetown. This is a very romantic place and the food is amazing. After we ordered our dessert, I popped the question to Maryann and she said yes! She is now wearing the great engagement ring I gave her.

It is interesting how within just a couple of weeks three people who used to be heads of their state passed away -- Augusto Pinochet, Saparmurat Niyazov, and Gerald Ford. Looks like 20th century politicians are leaving this world one by one. Who will be the next one? Fidel Castro, I suppose?

Today Maryann and I traded cars. Why, would you ask? Well, my Honda needs a 60K miles maintenance and Maryann agreed taking it to the Honda dealership that happens to be right next to her office. Our office manager has just brought my birthday cake into my office. Yummy! I feel so special.

Tonight there will be a dinner cooked by Maryann. My parents and Grandma are also coming. I have a nice family.
