10th Anniversary
I've just realized that I became a U.S. citizen exactly ten years ago, on July 24th, 1998. In other words, I've been a U.S. citizen for almost 2/3 of my total time in the U.S.
Coincidentally, I got a new U.S. passport yesterday. It looks a bit different from my old one. Apparently it has some kind of chip inside. -
Back From Vacation!!
Yesterday night, Maryann and I returned from our vacation. It was our 8th vacation together. We went to Salt Lake City, the Yellowstone National Park, and Glacier National Park. We also crossed the border into Canada and visited the Waterton Lakes National Park. Everything was wonderful.

Shooting
Yesterday my company had a social event. Since our CTO is an adamant shooter, he chose the Bull Run Shooting Center as the venue. It is a bit politically incorrect to have guns at a corporate social event. But hey, this is Virginia. It's February 29th Once Again!!!
One of my favorite holidays is here! February 29th, which only occurs once in 4 years. It's also the only day women are allowed to propose to men. I am already engaged, though.
We'll celebrate with waffles and beer and wine tonight! -

Life is good
We had an all-hands meeting today. It was a bit boring (numbers put me to sleep) but the good news was that EVERYONE got an annual bonus and it will be here in the last week of March. Coupled with the merit raise I got this week (after an excellent performance review), this is good news indeed. Time for some cash to go my way, at least for a while ( Read more... ) -
Rally missed
I learned today that Hillary Clinton is going to hold her rally in Arlington tomorrow between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. This is probably the worst timing she could choose. Much as I like Hillary Clinton, I am just not able to drop everything and drive to Arlington to see her. Of course I will still vote for her. She had better win in Virginia. If she ( Read more... ) -
