Miles to Go Before I Sleep

This weekend has been a mighty fine one I gotta say. It started with me, hryguyinsd, and bearringsd, driving up with bearxxl in his nifty new ride to my Mom's retirement condo in Laguna Woods. We headed up to be a part of the fab surprise bigsabu and animbear had for redbeardedblond that I will let you read all about in their journals. Long and short, it was Richard's birthday so we came up for dinner ( Read more... )

Great hanging with you guys on Saturday. Yet another fun-but-exhausting day in the MK. Damn them for not opening Nemo JUST FOR US!!!! *shakes fist* Nice pix, too -- should have mine up mid-day Monday (not that many, tho)

We just got back from GRINDHOUSE today, too -- I TOTALLY agree re: Tarantino. While I *like* his talky stuff and *was* entertained by the chatty gals, it had NOTHING to do with the story other than make it more like a real Grindhouse film (i.e. long and boring in-between action scenes). I also don't get the reviews that are preferring Tarantino's half -- I MUCH preferred Planet Terror, but that's just cuz I dig zombies and Rose McGowan. Rodriguez seemed to adhere to the rules and quirks of the Grindhouse genre more -- the Tarantino half, while awesome and ultimately entertaining, seemed more like one of his regular films, just gussied up a *little* like Grindhouse cinema.

You should come with us again next Sunday! hehe, it's Mikey's last go for a while and he's put together another healthy group o' bears for a day in the park. I think Dan might even be convinced to hit the Tower again.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who felt that way (Re: Tarantino's bit)... But don't get me wrong, the movie was a real treat. Most fun I've had in a theater in quite a while.

lol - yes, the "Don't" trailer was awesome! I think it was done by the guys who made Shawn of the Dead (or one of the trailers was, might have been Thanksgiving).

I liked the second bit (Kurt Russel was awesome - I'm a huge Big Trouble in Little China fan among other movies he's done) but I think I wouldn't have minded a bit if there was a reel missing from one of those dialog heavy bits. Hell, did we need all that set up with the first group of chicks just so they could be done away with to make room for the second group?

You up for "Hot Fuzz" with some of the guys? I gotta see that and "Meet the Robinsons".

The Thanksgiving trailer was so wrong (grin)...

Can't wait for Hot Fuzz!

Odd, might be a FireFox issue or perhaps I'm on double secret probation? Ah well, it's a simple enough cut and paste to work it out.

Looks like you guys had SUPER fun. We're back east for a couple of weeks, so we couldn't make the scene on Saturday. Please let us know when you're going to be there again!

well, some of the guys are going again this weekend... other than that, the only solid plans I have are to go for Gay Days again - but I'm sure I'll go a few times this Summer too.
