Something I don't get.

Why is it that there are so many people who hate Sora because he "killed their favorite characters?"

Possibly minor Days spoilers and much rantiness. )

wimpy sora, sora, organization

he comes out of all this able to smile. In fact, I swear he does it half to time just to remain sane.

YEEEES. ♥

Ahahaha oh man don't even get me started; Sora hate pisses me off like nothing else in fandom.

I don't mind it so much as long as it's not for STUPID REASONS.

Like, "Oh, he killed my favorite character, so he's a cold-blooded killer!"

Like, some of my friends think he's annoying with how he always smiles and almost seems too perfect, but they blame the people who wrote the script.
And they absolutely love my Sora muse, because he shows his flaws much more obviously.

Yeah. If he's not some fan's cuppa, oh well, there's plenty of other Square titles where the hero gets to mope and angst all throughout his quest that they can play instead. But it seems incredibly stupid to blame him for "oh noes killing the poor innocent Org members" when they did nothing but antagonize him and his friends whenever they ran into each other, or to blame him for absorbing Roxas (and Xion) when that was something he literally had no control over and wasn't even aware of for the longest time.

Aaugh, I miss playing Sora...fff, this may be why I'm so defensive of him, too. :P

I don't really get all the hate he gets. I mean, I could understand if someone says that he's annoying from time to time, but uh, hello, he's a child.

It's not like Sora goes around killing them for fun or because he enjoys it. Yeah, he's a silly little kid and doesn't seem to think that the Organization has human in them anymore, but still..

Long story short, I like Sora. 8( Poor bb, it's not like his life has been easy and ~fluffy~.

Exactly. D:

Poor kid. He just needs a hug.

And he doesn't think this because he happens to, y'know, listen to and trust authority figures who don't think they have any humanity left (or just have a good reason to hate them coughDiZcough).

Eeeeeh, I don't see the fuss about Sora. He's a pretty generic hero type -- it's not like they ever go into how he reacts to his whole adventure. As far as I can recall, he's told "Go kill the Org." and he replies "lol k."

It's easier to take the Org's side, because frankly, they're more interesting. There's more room to play around with their characters and lifestyle.

And honestly, I hold a bit of a grudge against Sora for sucking Roxas up, because I find the intro in Twilight Town is the best part of the game.

At the same time, though, Sora JUST woke up and he trusts these guys, so how could they steer him wrong? >>

As for taking the Org side... ...On SOME of them, I take their side. But when it comes to Xemnas, who went, "Ahahahaha, I'm just using ALL of you to build my own empire, our hearts be damned?" ...Uh, yeah. >>

Also, the Roxas thing? ...Blame DiZ and Xemnas. It's their actions that led up to it, not Sora's. >>

But that still makes Sora going blindly forward to beat them. It makes it seem like they sic Sora on the org.

Eh, insane with power bad guy building an evil empire is still more interesting than generic hero type.

But it's still a matter of Roxas getting sucked up so Sora can go and sing songs with Ariel. Of course that's going to lead to a grudge against him.

Yeah, but Sora had no choice in the matter there. He was unconscious. Grudge against the people who did it, not the guy who was out of it.

Ah, the most common form of Organization fandumb. It happens in other fandoms too, hating whoever opposes your favorite character, (for real or made up reasons, see: ship wars) but for whatever reason, it's so much stronger and more vocal in KH more than anything else. They put their favorite character up on a pedestal, and no matter what, their precious favorite character can do no wrong.

The best part of this is they most often accuse Sora of seeing things in black and white when they do the same thing, just with the opposite viewpoint. Sadly, no amount of screaming in their face is going to change this.

The Organization wasn't entirely evil, as Days so eloquently shows, but they needed to be stopped.

Besides, Nomura said that killing a Nobody reunites it with its heart. So Sora was actually doing them a favor.

Sora was a kid, though, and still LEARNING that things weren't black and white. Hell, he gets that by the end of KH2.

the Org wasn't entirely evil ...Except Xemnas. Xemnas just... *shudders.*

Sora's not entirely blameless, as he did provoke Demyx into fighting with him, but every Nobody Sora had met beforehand had either tried to kill him or severely screwed with him in one way or another. He kind of has a good reason for it. His opinion of Nobodies and even darkness itself changes after Axel's sacrifice and meeting Roxas.

If the Org fangulls want someone to blame, they should blame Xemnas for not only coming up with such a stupid evil scheme, (how exactly is Kingdom Hearts going to give them back their hearts? What does Kingdom Hearts even do?) but he was pretty clearly using the other Nobodies and had no intention of getting anyone back their hearts at all. He played them like fools, and they winded up dead for it.

Well, even Demyx had eventually attacked Sora in the start. So, in the end, all Sora did was expect more of the same, and when "the subject failed to respond..." ...Dem gave up on being the nice guy and let his true colors show. >>; Poor Sora.

Key: it wasn't. Xemnas is just using them all to use KH to make his own empire.
