That model looks somewhat similar to the buildings we are already getting but ours are higher. Are they by any chance the “latest” modular construction? If so they look hideous, are completely soulless and ours are certainly causing wind tunnel problems. Hope you can all resist them.
The Merc garage where we went today is behind Ikea, and we saw all the buildings. Some of it is ridiculously high, isn't it! I know that your area is a larger High Street etc to us, but it's so out of character when you look at the other buildings.
I think the problem is that there's such a mish-mash of different styles in some towns where there was bombing during the war and dreadful buildings put up in the 70s, that Developers think they have free rein to do whatever they want and it doesn't help!
It is certainly ridiculously high. What I am really puzzled about is who they think is going to live in these flats. I suspect some of them are intended for short term rental for people working in London to take advantage of our speedy transport. I blame our corrupt council for giving developers free rein.
I have no idea who'd want to be so high either, particularly when you take into consideration there are only two fire stations that have vehicles with extra tall ladders in the whole of London (Old Kent Road and somewhere else I've forgotten). So if you're living above floor 10 you've had it until they arrive.....
