I’ve noticed that more and more charging points for electric cars are being put in. There are two new ones near us. Enjoy your new car when it eventually arrives :)

Yes charging isn’t a problem as mostly of course you just drive home and charge there. We are looking forward to being a fully electric family ;)

We’re a slightly unusual area as we have no front gardens to speak of. Some people up the road have an electric car and run their charging cable across the pavement which I’m fairly sure they shouldn’t be doing as it is technically an obstruction. I wonder what the rules on charging electric cars are for people in a situation where they can’t really charge at home.

Yes there’s a lot of discussion in forums about running a cable across the pavement. It’s OK as long as you use a cable cover like you find in offices.

An alternative is to ask the council to put a point in a nearby lamppost as that’s relatively easy and cheap.

The salesman yesterday said that Liverpool is doing that in their city centre. Every other lamppost is a charger. You see them in London too.

Timely post. We were just talking about Smart and wondering about what was happening with that company.

Mercedes have said that they are now only manufacturing electric cars so you can’t actually buy a Smart that uses petrol now.
