It's Friday!

Yesterday was a busy day. I was really tired when I woke up, so it was a bit of a struggle to get going. In the morning we had online Tai Chi. We are learning a new 'form' which was made up of 12 different stretchy, slow moves (called Yi Jin Jing Qigong). It was nice, but it was really difficult to do everything so slowly. Tai Chi is deceptively hard!

After lunch I had my penultimate online session about The History of Fashion. This week we were looking at the 1800-1850s, so the Victorian era. It was fascinating as we covered mechanisation, the development of the department store, and sweat shops which meant that fashion became affordable (nothing much changes....!).

In the evening we had Pilates - a tough session which introduced some new advanced moves. Boy were we tired when we got home LOL!

Today's forecast: 8C/46F with sunshine! We got up a bit later as Mr Cee had a day off and after breakfast we set off to a large town around 10 miles from us to test drive an electric Smart car. We already have our Smart car, but up until now the electric versions haven't been very good. Now that battery technology is getting so much better, the range for the cars has improved significantly and we decided it was a good plan to see what we could get for our 5 year old car and see how the electric version is to drive.

The answer is - quiet and fun! So we've taken the plunge and ordered a new one and got a quote on part exchanging ours (they hold their value, so it's worth it).  We will have to wait until around May to get the new one as they are going to have to make the car we want, but that's OK as we still have the old one. We also still qualify for the UK government grant for buying electric, and we got a substantial amount of money off from Mercedes (who make the Smart) as they are promoting it and we got in before that offer ends in March.

The whole process took ages, so we ended up having a very nice late lunch in IKEA and looking around as it's close by (yes we did buy some stuff of course!). We got home about 3.45pm and now we are relaxing as it's Friday. No plans for the rest of the day is good.

I have questions:

10. What do you think is the best sitcom (current or past)?
UK best sitcom: Blackadder the Third. Loved Hugh Laurie as Prince George particularly and the social comment about the time was spot on.
US best sitcom: Big Bang Theory because we are geeks and some of the jokes are just geeky and excellent.

11. What do you think is the most overrated movie?
There are so many!  One I watched because everyone raved about it was The Greatest Showman. I love Hugh Jackman, but I hated the movie - I don't like anything that is set in one era, but brings a lot of contemporary language, fictional characters and situations to it. It didn't work for me as a musical or a loose biography of Barnam.

The rest of the questions are here.
