After one night in our hotel, we went to Sellin (about 3 km) away the next morning. We planned to take the guided tour through the city.
As we were there quite early, we first went to the
Pier in Sellin, looked around a bit and then went to the meeting point.

It must be the effect of this "resort architecture". Actually these buildings are quite attractive, with all that Victorian fretwork, it is very pretty.

(but yes, climing them back up again was a bit bothersome. Though they a lift and slopes for elderly and handicapped people too; which is very good)
The guide who explained us a bit about the buildings quoted a teacher from the 1920s who grew up in Dessau and visited Sellin. In Dessau was Bauhaus THE state of art architecture at that time. Said teacher didn't like those buildings at all and found them too bulky and closed ^^;;
Bauhaus, in my understanding, is bulky, where this resort architecture is more open *ggg*
