After one night in our hotel, we went to Sellin (about 3 km) away the next morning. We planned to take the guided tour through the city.

Very pretty. And Sellin is not even the biggest city there. I think Binz has even more houses/hotel like this.

Very much so @Junno ^^;;;;

That Pier doesn't look quite real somehow. I do see the many steps to go down [and climb back up].

It must be the effect of this "resort architecture". Actually these buildings are quite attractive, with all that Victorian fretwork, it is very pretty.

It is very real, trust me :-)))
(but yes, climing them back up again was a bit bothersome. Though they a lift and slopes for elderly and handicapped people too; which is very good)

The guide who explained us a bit about the buildings quoted a teacher from the 1920s who grew up in Dessau and visited Sellin. In Dessau was Bauhaus THE state of art architecture at that time. Said teacher didn't like those buildings at all and found them too bulky and closed ^^;;
Bauhaus, in my understanding, is bulky, where this resort architecture is more open *ggg*
