[There's a sick lurch to his stomach, because Itachi is leaving, and Valeria is staying, and.... or rather, they both want to leave and stay. And he doesn't fucking know what to do, because he can't be in two places at once, he can't, and he's a big person, but not big enough to reach out and hold Itachi there. He's neglected Itachi enough through his idiocy with this, he doesn't want to make his partner feel unwanted. But Valeria.... But should she really....?]
[He couldn't just abandon her like this, on a strange world with no friends, no family, no colleagues, no--it would be like cutting Itachi's ( ... )

Kisame wants her to stay?
Itachi stops in his exit at her admission and Kisame's response. His body is weak and it tires him to remain standing--even with the support of the sturdy house against his hand--but he tries to ignore his own failings and focus on what is transpiring in the yard. Valeria wants to stay. Kisame wants to let her.

[He hopes Itachi doesn't feel put upon like this. He had meant it when he tried to include Itachi in the choice--they were partners, and for now, this home was both of theirs. If Itachi didn't want her to stay with them, then he would have been glad to help set her up in a house--even one right next door, if she had wanted. Itachi shouldn't have to feel slighted, or left ou, or intruded on, or.... well, anything. Not while he's staying here. But if he really does think it's okay....]

It stings, but it is a truth Itachi has accepted by now.]
It's all right, Kisame. I'm fine with the ropes you've set up.
[But he's not. He's weak and tired, and it had taken a bit of discussion this morning just for Kisame to allow him outdoors when he's still so fatigued that he rarely stays awake longer than a few hours at a time.
That doesn't mean he had to like being a burden.]
Tea sounds very nice.
