[ The concussion-thuds of explosions reach Anko's ears just as she sees the first blasts; fire blossoming from rooftops and belching smoke over Konoha. It's ugly and loud and she thinks who the fuck is doing this, because she is going to let him taste what it's like to fuck with Mitarashi Anko

[Deidara's bird moves as if it were a living creature, and he's more at home in the air than he's ever been on the ground, so his clay creation rolls fluidly into a half dive, half turn, until the bird's stomach came close to scraping one rooftop before gaining height just as the roof in question exploded into brilliant fire and light.

He's still near the rooftops as he examines his work.]

[ Vanity, that's what she should be thanking, artists and their beautiful precious vanity, because otherwise Deidara would be soaring upwards again, away from the treacherous ground and the things that crawled on it.

Like snakes.

A quick snip of teeth along an old scab and the blood's flowing freely on her thumb. Her palm slams into the roof beside her and one of her big snakes (nowhere near the size(/belligerence) of Manda, for example, but sizable) erupts into being underneath her, catapulting her towards Deidara and his mount. In midair, she's already forming signs for her Striking Snake Jutsu, to latch onto his bird and climb aboard. ]

[Deidara realizes the extra weight and is reacting to it before he turns to face the new situation, pulling his bird into a fast, close-winged spiral, half wild spinning and half falling before the bird picks up the lost height.

And then he sees who's on board with him.]

Well, look who's here, un.

[His grin is dangerous and serious all at once.]

[ Anko scrambles for a hold; she's on the bird's tail, which is in constant motion and isn't really big enough for her to stand on. She grins right back even though there's now a flutter of healthy fear in her guts. ]

Here's looking at you, kid.

[ And with a quick twist of chakra, a third snake sprouts from her sleeve, ignoring the other two that have entwined themselves around Deidara's mount, and hisses towards his ankles, spitting venom. ]
