[ The concussion-thuds of explosions reach Anko's ears just as she sees the first blasts; fire blossoming from rooftops and belching smoke over Konoha. It's ugly and loud and she thinks who the fuck is doing this, because she is going to let him taste what it's like to fuck with Mitarashi Anko.
It tastes like a mouthful of venom, is what it's supposed to taste like.
She rolls out from behind a house just to see a clay bird whiz over her head and detonate, sending shrapnel raining down from its windows and roof. Anko doesn't think she was seen, though, and she looks up to catch a flash of long blonde hair atop a larger version of the clay bird she'd seen.
Deidara.
In the heat of the adrenaline rush, a knife-sharp grin spreads across her face. Deidara. Yeah, he's a long-range fighter in his element, and she's on the ground, a close-range fighter with a disadvantage in chakra nature (to judge by those explosions, fire wouldn't do much against his jutsu, and summoning would be hard against an airborne opponent), but those kinds of thoughts are the kind Anko does not listen to.
Konoha's in danger now and she's going to do all she can to make this young man regret putting it there.
She darts around a few alleys and dashes up to some lower roofs, flashing through hand signs on the way and tracking Deidara's movement as best she can. When he swoops low again to deliver another set of bombs, she's going to be ready. ]
