We have a name for our studio "Creative View Gallery & Art Studio". We are settled in and have made the two rooms in the basement into galleries. I have a show in the large gallery made up of all my students' art that earned 1st places at the last two art shows. It looks fantastic. Wish you all could see it. After 2 weeks of cleaning, tearing out old dirty carpet, sanding floors, finishing floors, and cleaning again---we can start moving in this week. I took the money Rick gave me for Christmas and bought shelves, two tables, and a lamp. As of 6:30 tonight I am 1/4 renter of a studio in the wonderful town of Springview. We have a quaint little house where we each have a room to set up as our own art studio. I get the dining room. An artist friend of mine came up with the idea of getting a studio space for us to work in. Within 24 hours four of us artists close to Springview have found a place to have studios---in an old auditorium. We just have to come up with a furnace to heat the place. I have two new windows on the south side of our living room. It is SO cool---we see THROUGH the glass and don't feel any air. So I am assuming that the sand will not blow in anymore. We are officially iced and snowed in---looks like 8+ inches of snow and I don't have a clue how much ice, but it doesn't really matter how much ice---slippery ice is slippery ice. We were going to have semester tests Tues and Wed and a teacher work day on Thurs. We are converting from Pearson Centerpoint to Power School--all grades had to be on by Fri---we did all semester tests and Christmas parties on Tues and called all the rest off even before the storm hit---the sun was still shining when I left town last night.
