As you can surmise, I was working like a demon on the basement this weekend; I basically went down there the whole time and only popped up for food breaks or when I was done for the night.  I got a lot done, but it’s hard to see all of it unless you know things as well as I do.

Yesterday, I had to leave the house and go over to a nearby lawn and garden store.  Susan and Mere have gotten turned on to a certain type of gardening, and wanted a set of heirloom seeds - we’re putting out three types of tomatoes, green beans, summer squash, and two types of beets (elsewhere in the garden) and I was sent over to get some things ( Read more... )

My mom bought us a chest freezer as a present many years ago, and while I’m usually very ‘don’t toss it until it’s broke’, it was obvious that a replacement was in the cards, and Susan was strongly pushing for an upright freezer.  I have my own objections to such things, mostly because they’ve always seemed energy-wasteful, but she and I dug up one ( Read more... )

The ear infection is dying out; still taking the cipro for it, along with the other stuff, and the pain died down earlier this week so that it’s bearable.    However…

When I got back in town, Susan laid out a list of Priorities for me to do, and I’ve been busy with them and haven’t had time to do much else.  This included hauling a lot of loose tree stuff out front so that the Lisle village doods can come by and haul it away this week; cleaning off a old laptop that is very fussy to give to my MIL’s old buddy ( Read more... )

Spent a good deal of yesterday and today with yardwork; a lot of it long overdue, and screamingly necessary.  Lots of scratches, pokes, sore muscles and two showers to keep the grass/plant guck from setting off any allergies.  I knew it would rain sometime tonight and keep on ( Read more... )
