Question for the masses: how do you handle long-term projects, both in the planning and the funding setup? Looking at doing something radically different, as the present system sucks, and looking for ideas from others as to what works for them!

Still feeling groggy today; got woken up enough times during the night with people going to the john (and Dot the Dog trying to ram her way past the gate at the top of the basement stairs to find a dog that had left earlier that day - thought it was someone trying to break in with all that racket).

Taking a brief break from chores to post; I have to empty out my old yearbooks and my collection of Point Of Divergences from the basement closet to somewhere in the bookcases…which is going to be a real PITA, but it has to be done.  Using the space for storage of board games, extra towels and blankets for the downstairs…and seeing how much more ( Read more... )

Hot out today; still have 5+ hours to work on basement (laundry room and library) till we have to leave for picking up Meredith Ellen from the airport.  Twin #1 was too excited to crash last night; a large lead ingot might have been useful, or chloroform, to get her to go the frint to sleep!

I’m looking for some kind of document manager that will be able to easily file away my own, personal digital documents collection; scanned personal papers, scanned financial papers, pdfs of technical articles, that sort of thing. Coming back from the Norovirus or whatever it was that had me screwed up for a big chunk of last week; staying away from anything greasy (lots of butter, say) seems to have kept the worst explosions at bay, and my appetite came back…still had stomach cramps at the dangdest times.  I think that’s past, but energy-wise, I’m still running on low power ( Read more... )
