An Anniversary Thing
Peter insisted that they spend their first anniversary in Kendal-he wanted to spend the time, with Rose, in the place where everything had started. Rose had laughed, at first, asking why they couldn’t simply spend it in London, but had relented upon seeing that he was both serious and not a little stung by how cavalierly she’d

Like so many other readers, I wibbled a bit at the:
The stars were sharp against the black velvet of the sky, and Rose paused at the boot of the car to lean her head back and look at the stars, as she so often did.
& the:
He leaned into her, kissing her briefly. “I’m so glad I met you.”
Rose blinked, before a huge grin overspread her features. “Me, too.” She laughed, as at a private joke, before kissing him in turn.
ROSE AND THE DOCTOR! D: I miss it, but I beyond love this pairing that you've created here. SO LOVELY!

Peter, I think, used to not pay so much attention to the night sky. But because of Rose, he notices it so much more. And, of course, he loves looking at her as she looks up at the sky.

*sniffle* Oh, Nine! I do miss him.
But I'm glad you enjoy Peter and Rose--I'm quite fond of them, too!

But Peter is a very lucky man that Rose loves him so much- thats two special occasions when she's bought him a present and he hasn't bought her one back. (although, he does organise the best trips away as a pressie) ;o)
Will we get to read about Rose and Annie's first meeting?
Great stuff as usual x

For all of his grand romantic gestures, Peter's really rubbish at gifts, isn't he? ;)
Will we get to read about Rose and Annie's first meeting?
You will indeed--it's in the sequel.

Really? It never occurred to you? I...I can't believe that, actually. Peter, if asked, could probably tell you the *time* he first kissed Rose, or that he realized he loved her. He's just that type of guy. And so naturally he'd have set up this first anniversary that enabled them to revisit the scenes involved in where it all began.
Hmm...I did manage to skip the picnic on the castle green, though...
I imagine him deciding on that almost as soon as he decided that he loved Rose
Just about ;)

I don't know that she ever gets used to them, truth be told.
It really makes me smile to think about it. :)
Me, too :)
You absolute tease. Shame on you.
What?! It's written already and everything!
Also: did Peter leave his car in Kendal?
Heh--I had meant to go back and explain where they got a car from, but I kind of forgot. He hired a car for the weekend; his car lives in London, in the undercroft below the building in which they live.
I'm expressing it awkwardly, but I hope you understand.
I do indeed--and, in fact, you've captured pretty much how I process the thought, when I actually *process* it. It's usually a gut instinct sort of thing.
I want someone to buy me old books. But you know this. ;)
Wellllll...you could try to train Jimmy to love old books, and then when he has the money maybe he'll buy you some!
Peter can ask her about missing her time with the Doctor without fear, and Rose can answer him honestly without worrying that he'll ( ... )

knowing that it's written makes it even *MORE* of a tease !!!!!!!
and you know that... but it's ok, we know it'll be worth it when we get there...

Is Rose a little Kendal-ed out at this point? Poor woobie Peter, though; his quickly-hidden pout must have been epic.
He still didn’t quite understand the allure of travelling by train-and truth be told, staring out the window tended to make him sick-but Rose adored it and so he had humoured her.
Peter gets motion sick? Why do I get the feeling this is going to come up again? (no pun intended)
He had called up to Louise, asking if she or someone from her tea group would be willing to air the house out a bit, and so it was that when they arrived late Friday night, the house had been not only cleaned, but was near full to bursting with flowers.
See, Peter, you do have a collective of women to serve as your surrogate mum.
That first night in Kendal, they didn’t even make it up the stairs before making love. How many flower petals ( ... )

No--I think Rose had simply imagined the two of them would hide out together in London for the weekend. As for Peter's pout, I have one word: dimples

I really hadn't intended it to; the idea came out of conversations with earlgreytea68, bouncy_castle79, and chicklet73.
How many flower petals were harmed in this endeavour?
None. Wall!Secks ;)
And how quickly did he get tired of those jokes?
Years ago ;)
We are going to get to see this eventually, yes?
Yup--it's already written. Well, from Peter's side, at least. I still have to do Rose's.
Did he manage to squeeze the story about the cheese grater and Jackie's shoes out of her this time?
He did indeed. XD
He's finally found a home in Rose.
I love this assessment--it's lovely.

It is for couples like the two of them that the London Eye does not allow a car to go up with only two people in it.
As for Peter's pout, I have one word: dimples
Hee.
None. Wall!Secks ;)
I'm still waiting for them to end up having Stairs!Secks.

Oh, gawd, it's gonna be School Reunion all over again, isn't it? And in some ways even more understandable, because Annie's going to be the only other person she's seen Peter be even remotely demonstrative towards. And I picture Annie as being quite saucy and flirty, even though it doesn't really mean anything when it's directed at Peter.
With maybe a dash of Rise of the Cybermen, with Annie and Peter pulling the 'you had to be there' routine on Rose... and she would not like it one bit ( ... )

Hmmmm...the stairs would have to have some pretty plush carpeting, and thick padding...
The Annie encounter is a debacle for a wide variety of reasons. That's all I'll say.
