And I have to say I had a really great time. But I think checking my email was a huge mistake because I think my con high has skidded and I'm down in the dumps

The Sam/Jack shippers on my flist are awesome. What is worse is that even they get flamed for not buying into the "right" notion of Sam/Jack. Plus, many of them are multishippers.
I wear my bad reviews like a badge. It means I've done something right. So, remember that. It means you did too.
That's good to know (that they're awesome anyway). :) Actually I do know a couple of multishippers who ship S/J and are respectful of other ships (just forgot about em in that rant of mine I guess).
The person also told me in their review they found some LJ community for C/V and they had to turn back because a lot of the stories had S/D as a secondary pairing. Well gee, what did they expect me to do, sympathize with them? Sheesh...
Yeah, when you put it that way... I've gotten under an obsessed S/J fan's skin so I must be doing something right for my end of the fandom. Thanks. :)
I don't exactly ship with SG-1, unless Daniel/Weir counts. I seriously don't understand people who throw around hateful responses to fanfics if they're not about their perferred pairing. I mean damn, if it's not your OTP, just don't frickin' read it if it's going to kill you. I tend to stick to gen pieces when I read SG-1, but with Atlantis, I've read Sparky when I'm a McWeir and McTeyla shipper. They're just assholes. I hope you don't let it get to you and that you keep writing what you want to write!
Daniel/Weir, huh? Oh, you should have been at the con this weekend. They showed a nice Daniel/Weir music vid. :)
Anyway... I agree, you'd think it was common sense that someone would stay away from something they don't like. Some of the fic archive sites I visit, I see pairings I don't like but I don't torture myself and read them.
Anyhoo thanks for the encouragement. I'm not going to let it bother me too much - I was mostly tired after the con and this kinda set me off.
Hey, I'm sorry this person is giving Sam/Jack shippers such a bad name, but I swear, they probably can't read since they didn't heed your disclaimer;) Also, I'm the kind of person who understands all ship. Of course Jack and Sam have a thing, but that doesn't leave Daniel in the dust, because hey, maybe she moved on:) I hope things get better and they let it go:) ~Multi-shipper:D
Thanks. :) As much as I love to ship (well mostly in fanfic) people like this do give it a bad name. I haven't dealt with a ton of people like this, but enough to get pretty annoying.
Heh, yeah I was wondering about that... like "which part of 'if you don't like it, don't read it' don't you understand?!" Maybe I wrote it in some foreign language...
Thanks again :) I'm hoping so too. If I don't get a reply from them I guess they realized they're an idiot about this stuff (though I kinda doubt it since they couldn't read my disclaimer anyway). ;)
I'm a diehard 100% S/J OTPer. D/V too for that matter. I find it unpleasant to read Sam/Daniel fic, and if it's well written that just makes it all the more unpalatable for me. But you know what? There's a very simple solution to that -- I don't read it. Flaming people over the pairings they choose is childish and stupid, and anyone who behaves in such a manner is beneath contempt. Don't let obnoxious bullies ruin your squee.
Thanks for the encouragement. :) I am the same way with certain pairings - they're not my cup of tea and I don't enjoy reading them. Not that I would ever force myself to. I know what I like and what I dislike, and I stay away from the types I find unpleasant. Those who don't... I don't know if they're satisfying their inner masochist or what. Even if I accidentally happened upon a fic with a pairing I didn't like I wouldn't flame the author - I would probably just try to forget I read it.
It is nice to meet other shippers who are respectful though, so thanks. :)

*raises hand*
I'd like to consider myself a sane S/J shipper, okay, maybe not sane per se, but definitely respectful. And I am so sorry that the crazies decided to descend upon you. I say don't you dare stop posting your stuff at ff.net just because some small-minded people were, well, small-minded.
I am pretty much known as a S/J writer, but I remember this one time I posted something that was Sam/Daniel and I had someone informing me that Sam/Daniel is grosser than *rape* because, OMG THEY ARE SIBLINGS. I went a little crazy when I got that, but I have been training myself to see every batshit insane review as a badge of honor. If they are getting that worked up, we must be doing something right. :D
I say ship away, whatever you love, whatever pairing you see, write away and forget everyone else. Viva la revolucion. :)

Thanks for the encouragement! :) It is great to meet other shippers who are more sane (er respectful), teehee.
Oh, wow, what a comment. I think I may have an idea who wrote it. If you don't mind me asking, what was the story? I may have read it at one point.
Yeah, I am starting to think of it that way. If I drive some obsessive, small-minded people insane, I must be doing something right. I'll have to remember that now. :)

No problem! Respectful people need to stick together!
As for my flame, it is even more ridiculous (I think) because it was just a small Five Things I wrote called "Five Ways Sam Got Pregnant." For your enjoyment, here is a link to the flame. :)

OMG, HEY! It's from Ballsbreaker too! We have a flamer in common. What a small world. Lol.

Wow, that is really ridiculous. Seriously makes me wonder why people such as this guy (gal?) waste their energy.
I read your story too - definitely not worthy of such a stupid flame.
OMG! LOL, it is indeed a small world. Have to wonder if BB has flamed anyone else...
