Hey there. moonshayde sent me this direction to spread some fandom love.

I'm one of the multi-shippers she mentioned. I've written Sam/Jack, and I've written Sam/Daniel. I'm most comfortable writing gen, but I've been writing pairings lately because I like the challenge of something I'm not entirely comfortable with. I'm a big ol' fan of the entire team, although Jack is my favorite character.

But basically, when it comes to fic, I think they all deserve lovin' and should be paired every way possible. If you'd like a nice, sane place to come play for a bit, I'd start with pretty much anyone and everyone who participated in the sd_ficathon earlier this year. There are some really good stories to be read in there, and while I wish there would have been more 'ship than friendship fics in there, it was certainly a good draw.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that not everyone out there are a buncha loons who think their way is the only way there is.

Hey, thanks for dropping by. :) That's how I feel - I don't care what pairing someone writes. If it's not a pairing I particularly like I just won't read it. No sense in spoiling the fun for those who do like it.

Thanks for the reminder about the sd_ficathon. I started reading the stories in there way back when but after my accident this summer I fell behind and still haven't finished reading them all. I am going to make it a point to spend some more time over there, if just for a little pick-me-up.

Hi -- I'm so sorry to hear you got that kind of insanity in your reviews. I'm not an S/J shipper by any means, but I'm friends with quite a few (very sane) ones, and for what it's worth, when stuff like this has come up, none of them seem to be at all impressed with this kind of behavior from their fellow shippers. So yeah, there are definitely some cool ones out there.

You should absolutely still post your fics at ff.n -- don't let The Ship Police keep you down!

Also: AAH! I was at the con this weekend too. It WAS really fun. I met so many people that I wonder if I didn't actually meet you too! I was mostly hanging around with some of the people from Gateworld, who I didn't know before but met through hsapiens. What were you up to?

(And I gotta say, Michael's hair today...heh.)

Thanks. :) I do know a couple personally who are usually pretty good about it. I was just really cranky when I posted that and I kinda overlooked them.

You were there!! COOL! I hung out with some of the people from Gateworld too. I'm JessM over there and like the big geek that I am I was wearing a badge with my screen name and custom avatar. I was the nervous girl who asked Michael the question about team friendship in the upcoming movies, if that helps.

And yeah his hair was pretty interesting today. ;) I like the long hair but it was all over the place, like he forgot his comb...

Were you at the bar Saturday night? I was with parts of the Gateworld group most of the weekend, but caught very few online handles.

In any event, what a nice group of people! I have to remember to make an account over there so I can pop in and say hello in the con thread to everyone I met there.

Michael's hair: what amused me the most was that it looked like, even though he wasn't wearing a hat, there was still an indentation on the back of his head from where it had been. Hat head to the umpteenth, especially this morning. ;)

Yep, I was there. :) I was sitting against the see-through window part, at a table with some of the Gateworlders (one of whom brought her laptop and was playing A Dog's Breakfast on it). I started fading a little though and ended up going up to bed at around 12:45, 10 to 1 am.

They are a very nice group of people. I met a few of them last year too. It would be cool to see you over there at the con thread! I started posting some of my pics there, mostly ones of Michael.

Heehee... I was just thinking of that when I was editing some of the pics of him this morning. It did look like he still had some hat head there! I noticed too that when he first came on stage, someone yelled "you did your hair!" and he said someone convinced him not to wear a hat (or maybe I dreamt that last part...).

Okay, you know what? I just tracked down the fic and found the review. The reviewer has written ZERO stories and is named "BallsBreaker" -- um, I think you can safely discount this individual as being worthy of having an opinion. Also, anyone who is in the act of openly praising the uncanon ship Cam/Vala forfeits any rights to then use canon as an argument against any other pairing, especially in the same paragraph.

I went back and checked their userpage and you're right... no stories written. And BallsBreaker - how very appropriate. The more I think about it the less worthy of having an opinion this person is.

I'm also here via moonshayde. And yes, there are sane, respectful, and very nice S/J shippers out there. There is also batshit crazy lurking in every corner of fandom. Sorry you had to run into them. Don't let them scare you off of posting though. Everyone gets a review like that some time or another.

Thanks for the support. :) Crazy stuff like this makes me forget that I know a few S/J shippers who are respectful, and I've been meeting many more here.

Does seem that every corner of fandom has its bad apples. I know of Daniel fans who are way too protective of the guy and despise anyone who threatens to take screen time away from him. But luckily they are in the minority.

I'm learning to take reviews like that as a badge of courage. I must be doing something right if it gets under the skin of obsessive people like that.
