Just a short post to announce that I am now officially an aunt. My nephew, Oliver Philip, was born on June 11. I'm not allowed to post this on Facebook yet, but I figured I can post it here since nobody here knows my brother or sister-in-law. It's kind of weird.  I don't think they've even told most of their friends yet.

My grandmother is 82 and has bad arthritis in her knees.  She wants to get a new house because she's having trouble taking the stairs and she doesn't want to have to do that anymore. Apparently, new houses are rather in demand around here.  New lots are being released in the housing development that she's in tomorrow. People have been standing in ( Read more... )

Thanksgiving was interesting.  My brother is in Oxford, so it wasn't exactly the same as normal. It was the first year that the four of us haven't been together on Thanksgiving. Ages ago I started sketching Idina Menzel as her alter ego Maureen from Rent. I finally finished the sketch tonight. I found her nose incredibly difficult, but I'm happy enough with it now. Let me know what you think.

Well, my new laptop arrived yesterday, meaning not only do I now I have a new computer, I could finally charge up my iPod Nano. Apparently my old computer would have burned out the poor little thing.
