fleete has a post on ERF.  I'm going to link to it from here so I can make myself go read it and discuss it instead of discussing without reading anything that she's written.  Go read it.  It's interesting.

In other news, I spent an hour responding to emails etc this morning, then I spent a few hours in the kitchen making lasagna, and now I'm going to see ( Read more... )

She had an effect on him which he couldn't put into words. He could feel her joy, her sadness, her inner turmoil perfectly. Her whole body communicated, and he responded to it. The message she sent was clear and sincere, and it affected his mood every day.

In his eyes she was the beauty and he, the beholder couldn't help but be enchanted. He watched and touched her every morning before going to work, and every evening when he got home. She just stood there in perfect silence and let him.

He never wanted anyone else: the statue of perfection.

Yes, but she cannot disappoint, and sometimes that makes everything easier. It's kinda bitter.

This is beautiful. I pictured her as a ballet dancer, for a moment it reminded me of the Black Swan, I don't know why. Great job!

I saw it but I don't remember much of it, I just pictured her as Natalie Portman. I used to learn ballet as a child but I never had the grace (and I wasn't skinny enough, I guess that was the main problem). :)

Arthur stared at the canvas. He stepped towards it, face wrinkling as he tried to understand what he saw.

He stepped away from it, thinking that perhaps distance would bring clarity.

“Merlin,” he called sweetly, “what the hell is this?”

Distracted, Merlin replied, “Hm?”

Arthur jabbed towards the canvas.

“This!”

Merlin looked up.

“Oh, that. Well, what do you think it is? How does it make you feel?”

“Damn it. Don’t give me that shit. I hate it when you do that. Just tell me what it is.”

A slow smile grew on Merlin’s face. “That’s my old mixing palette.”

Oh, poor oblivious Arthur. He really walked into that one, didn't he?

This is very funny. Anything can be art, it's all about intentions. :)
