I pretty much live in these big, heavy men's sandals most of the year until it just gets too damn cold even with socks. Unfortunately open toed shoes aren't allowed at work.

I'm hoping the podiatrist will have some good suggestions.

{hugs} and HOW do you do that? You mention one toss off line about cooking and my mouth starts watering! You are DEFINITELY going to have to cook for me some day!

I can't figure out if the marmalade cat in your icon is Romeo-kitty or Dracula-kitty. Don't matter. Totally cute.

And yes! I definitely need to get down there for a visit and cook for you!

A yay! for seeing a podiatrist! How good it was that you mentioned those probs to the doc. A yay! for your overall health! And a yay! for cooking up corned beef. I had to look up what a tangine is...and it looks like a nifty piece of cookery! Happy noms, healthy you!

I saw that tagine at World Market for $20 and since I've always wanted one and at that time had a little extra cash I went ahead and got it.

Best $20 I've spent in a long time! Because the cap is conical all the moisture from the food condenses and falls back down. Meat winds up puddled in its own juices without the addition of any other liquids and because it's clay the top still ends up browned! The only drawback to this one is the size. If I put a roast (or corned beef) in there it has to be a small one. I went back to the store and the sale was still going and picked up a couple more. I had to paw through a pretty big bin to find a couple of smaller ones. But so worth it!

And I can't wait to see the podiatrist on Tues! I hope he has some good suggestions.
