care to make a wager? for watchmakersboy

She had warned him that she was going to come over and "get him".  He had said that he was going to watch his back but she had a feeling that he wasn't really expecting her to come over to actually look for the books even though they made a wager.  So after she was done work at the store, she waved goodbye to her coworkers and the guys who usually ( Read more... )

No, Gabriel definitely hadn't thought that she was actually going to come over to wrestle or look for the books. He did however decide to hide them, just in case next time she did come over for a visit they wouldn't just be sitting there plain as day. Her coming and trying to find the books was something that could lead to a potentially fun time, so he was careful where he hid them. One simply went into a drawer, to give her the idea that they would be easy to find, the rest however, they were hidden with more care. One went into a pot that he hardly ever used and that she would have to lift the lid off of to find, another into the far back of the freezer, because really, why would she look there? And the last, and the most difficult to find he decided to, for a laugh, tape to the back of the toilet, because if she found that one? Then he would go down on one knee and ask her to marry him right then and there. Okay, maybe not, but he would do whatever she wanted him to do ( ... )

Claire figured that he would learn eventually that if she said she was going to do something, even something as simple as just having some fun, she was probably going to do it. Plus it gave her a reason to go and see him, not that she needed a reason but she wasn't sure that she was at the point where she could just show up unannounced and whenever she wanted. Not that she thought he would mind, he was very sweet that way but she didn't want to impose quite yet. She wondered if maybe he had hid the books and somehow she wasn't surprised to imagine that he had but she wondered how hard he would make it for her to find them ( ... )

Of course he was that surprised that she had just showed up. Gabriel wasn't one to often have company over after all, and especially unexpected company, of a girl least of all. Therefore it was natural for him to assume the worst, though that he did with everything really. Not that he would mind her just randomly showing up on a day to day basis, but once he got used to the idea of her just coming over to spend time with him, he would probably encourage it ( ... )

Claire could understand that he didn't get a lot of company just showing up, at least not unexpectedly but she liked visiting people. She was used to being in a house with other people, she was used to being around others and so she got lonely easily. She wasn't as used to being at home by herself, not like he was used to. So she liked visiting friends and well, she enjoyed being around Gabriel. There was something that was completely charming about him, between the awkwardness and then moments of flirtatious behavior ( ... )

"Perhaps I just want to watch with amusement as you fail to find them, because well, hunched over all day, I probably could use that back rub that I'm bound to win," Gabriel replied with a slight smirk on his face, and as she slipped her shoes off he disappeared into the kitchen to put the ice cream in the freezer, making sure to push the book even further back and over it with a bag of peas. Soon he returned though and grinned a bit at her, finally taking the time to look her up and down, even though what he found made him inwardly flail and scowl at the same time ( ... )

"Oh, you think so, do you?" She glanced over at him with a smirk on her mouth as she set her shoes aside, turning to follow him a couple steps before pausing to look around. As she glanced back, she watched him do something in the freezer but she couldn't see what it was. She arched a brow then, a touch curious but she would check it out in a minute or two. After all, she was going to be suspicious now that she figured he was hiding the books all over his apartment in the hopes to win the wager that they had laid out. Not that she minded the thought of giving him a back rub but she had to put up some kind of fight after all ( ... )

"Mhm, yes I do, it'll provide me with entertainment for the night, and I'll save energy because I won't have to turn on the TV," Gabriel replied smoothly. Of course, if she asked about the freezer he would play it off as having to move a few things around to make room for the ice cream, because that was logical wasn't it? He thought it was at least, and he didn't plan on giving it all away easily. Or well, he didn't really plan on giving anything away. He could use the back rub, and really, the idea alone of her touching him at all made his body tingle a bit ( ... )

"Well, get ready to lose energy, mister because I don't intend to lose." She laughed as she gave him a cocky little smirk because she was good at bravado, she was a cheerleader after all. Of course she didn't know if he knew that, she had never really mentioned it but maybe it would come up another time. Right now she was focused on finding the books because well, she liked the idea of touching him. Maybe she could even convince him to take his shirt off, all under the guise that it would be a better back rub if her hands worked on his actual skin with no material between them ( ... )

Gabriel snorted with laughter, making sure that it was purposefully loud, though it was soon followed by a proper laugh as he realised how stupid he sounded. However, he was amused by the whole of it. of course, she would have to not find the books if she wanted to give him a back rub, or well, he would gladly accept a back rub whenever she wanted to give him one, but if she was going to give it to him based on the fact that she lost the bet, she would have to not find the books ( ... )

She knew that she couldn't find the books but she did have to put up a proper fight because she didn't want to seem like she was giving up too easily. As he laughed, she smiled warmly at him as she liked the sound of his laugh. it was deep and almost like velvet on her ears, plus she liked him relaxed and enjoying himself. It was better than seeing him worried because he always seemed like he had something on his mind ( ... )
