She had warned him that she was going to come over and "get him".  He had said that he was going to watch his back but she had a feeling that he wasn't really expecting her to come over to actually look for the books even though they made a wager.  So after she was done work at the store, she waved goodbye to her coworkers and the guys who usually ( Read more... )

"Mhm, yes I do, it'll provide me with entertainment for the night, and I'll save energy because I won't have to turn on the TV," Gabriel replied smoothly. Of course, if she asked about the freezer he would play it off as having to move a few things around to make room for the ice cream, because that was logical wasn't it? He thought it was at least, and he didn't plan on giving it all away easily. Or well, he didn't really plan on giving anything away. He could use the back rub, and really, the idea alone of her touching him at all made his body tingle a bit.

He didn't want to oogle her like all the guys that worked at the comic store did, because well, to be quite frank he wanted to be different, and he wanted her to notice that. He was sure that all the other guys that came into the comic store must be awkward and nerdy too, just like he was, and he didn't want her to decide that one of them, perhaps one closer to her age or something like that was a better choice and decide that she wasn't going to bother with him at all anymore.

"Mhm, turning to goo. So much goo that you can ask me anything, and I might just let my tongue slip up a little," he nodded, and then looked at her, relaxing back in the chair. "Oh Claire, what do you take me for, a fool? You're going to have to find out what makes me turn to goo just like you're going to have to find the books. If I told you, everything would be just too easy."

"Well, get ready to lose energy, mister because I don't intend to lose." She laughed as she gave him a cocky little smirk because she was good at bravado, she was a cheerleader after all. Of course she didn't know if he knew that, she had never really mentioned it but maybe it would come up another time. Right now she was focused on finding the books because well, she liked the idea of touching him. Maybe she could even convince him to take his shirt off, all under the guise that it would be a better back rub if her hands worked on his actual skin with no material between them.

The thing was, he intrigued her far more than the guys who hung around the comic book shop. They were nice guys there, she liked a lot of them because they were actually a bunch of sweethearts and yes, it was kind of amusing to watch them trip over their tongues a bit whenever she talked to them. Everyone liked having their ego stroked a little bit, right? She didn't think there was anything wrong with it because it wasn't like she was mean to them, she was actually very nice. Some of them reminded her of Zach and yes, maybe Gabriel but she liked him more.

As he told her that she had to figure it out for herself, she smiled as she fought past the nerves causing little butterflies in the pit of her stomach. She braced one hand against the desk as she leaned forward then, her blond hair shifting over her shoulders, the curls bouncing and releasing the scent of her shampoo as she brought her face closer to his. "But it's nice manners if you say 'hot or cold' to help me, remember? That's how the game goes." Her voice is soft as her eyes drop to his mouth and then back to his eyes as tries to remember to breath.

Not that she went for his mouth right away, instead her lips brushed against his cheek dangerously close to the corner of his mouth. She closed her eyes a bit as she felt tingles dance down her spine as she leaned back just a couple inches. "Any hint now?"
