My Ubuntu/XP dual boot is set up and working fine, with a single exception: I can't get my wifi connection to work from Ubuntu. I picked up my new home computer last night. It rocks my world. 2.6 GHz dual-core CPU, half a terabyte of disk space, 2 GB of memory, good sound and graphics cards...it's nice having a machine I can be proud of again. My primary personal email account (cberry@cine.net) was unable to receive emails for almost a full day, from around 1pm yesterday until just a few minutes ago.  It looks like it is in working order again, but it will take a while for various other mail servers to retry sends that failed during the downtime.  If you sent me something important in ( Read more... )

I finally set up the USGL website to use Google Analytics.  I'd never bothered to do so, as most of the same information is available in the logs I already collect.  Then I realized that there is a big difference between "available" and "usable".  I also noticed that some of the GA reports depend on session tracking, which isn't easy for me to do ( Read more... )
