It definitely made him realize that Ty Lee can be a GOOD PERSON...definitely better than he was when, uh, Azula deaged that one time. If he were possible of thinking of it all in an unbiased light, he'd be pretty impressed with how she handles surprise situations like that

Mostly she feels sad. Lan is this genuinely sweet, caring, dorky kid who seems to have a pretty decent life all things considered, and Ty Lee genuinely loves being around him when all she has to put into consideration is those qualities. But there's always the haunting spectre of who he grows up to be and why he grows up to be that, and Ty Lee just finds it to be depressing and another reason for why she really, really, really is not into the actual war and wishes that it would have never happened. It might be partially why she hates Jet marginally less now than she used to because at least she understands why he's crazy and is sympathetic towards his past, if not to what he does and what a crazy dick he is.

NOT AS DEPRESSING AS YOU'D THINK! For a long time, he didn't even think not being dead after camp was an option. He had no idea why he was alive again here, but he didn't see that changing anywhere else. But then Zuko brought up the possibility and that really freaked him out, you'll remember. He'd gotten used to being dead, not going back home and...well, a lot of it was that he'd refused to think about it. You're about seventeen, you're dead and you can never go home again, would you want to think about it? He freaked the hell out.

But now he's had a lot of time to think about it, and about all the things he wants to do back home: make sure Smellerbee and Longshot are okay (I BELIEVE THEY GOT AWAY SAFELY. NICKELODEON, YOU BETTER NOT FUNK WITH MY HEART!), make huuuge amends for all the terrible things he's done, help his war-torn country and, oh yeah, zukozukozukozukozuko. What Zuko means to Jet is an entirely different essay, but here's the short version: Zuko makes Jet want to be a better person and he's crazy in love with the boy

Ahahaha god. Zuko is SO FULL OF SAPPY DREAMS that he wouldn't admit to anyone because nothing that good could ever actually happen to him, especially if he says it out loud.

The thing is -- Zuko is actually really depressed by the idea that after the war is over, everyone's gonna go back to where they came from or travel the world having adventures and... even if they come visit him in the Fire Nation a lot, it's not the same as having them around all the time. He's never been this happy, like, ever. SO IDEALLY the Gaang would come visit and stay in the giant guest rooms or we could just hang out in Uncle's tea shop or take long vacations to go penguin-sledding and and and I DON'T EVEN KNOW JUST DON'T LEAVE ME ;A<;>

He wants to go back and keep Zuko from freaking out over politics and old war ministers who won't listen and angry Earth Kings.ZUKO WANTS THIS TOO. If he were still in camp and if it was a REALLY NASTY BREAKUP, Jet would definitely have gone for Darc. Darc is JUST HIS PERFECT TYPE, a cranky, challenging outcast.
