NOT AS DEPRESSING AS YOU'D THINK! For a long time, he didn't even think not being dead after camp was an option. He had no idea why he was alive again here, but he didn't see that changing anywhere else. But then Zuko brought up the possibility and that really freaked him out, you'll remember. He'd gotten used to being dead, not going back home and...well, a lot of it was that he'd refused to think about it. You're about seventeen, you're dead and you can never go home again, would you want to think about it? He freaked the hell out.

But now he's had a lot of time to think about it, and about all the things he wants to do back home: make sure Smellerbee and Longshot are okay (I BELIEVE THEY GOT AWAY SAFELY. NICKELODEON, YOU BETTER NOT FUNK WITH MY HEART!), make huuuge amends for all the terrible things he's done, help his war-torn country and, oh yeah, zukozukozukozukozuko. What Zuko means to Jet is an entirely different essay, but here's the short version: Zuko makes Jet want to be a better person and he's crazy in love with the boy. He wants to go back and keep Zuko from freaking out over politics and old war ministers who won't listen and angry Earth Kings. Jet desperately wants to go home and love the hell out of Zuko, because after his village was burnt down, Jet's only had a handful of good things happen to him and Zuko's pretty high up on that list.

So Jet's going to try as hard as he can to come back home. But if he can't, I like to imagine that he'll go off to someone else's world and be Jet at people. My favourites are: helps out at the Pie Hole with Chuck and Ned; goes off to Darc's world and joins his party, to the annoyance of Delma and Volk; or goes to Yuta's world and tries to protect him.
