Radeon 9600 TV-out! Cue the cheerleaders!
And that worked fabulously for getting a 800x600 upper-left subset of the laptop's 1048x768 screen copied onto the TV. After the xvattr command, it could even show playing video on the TV. Radeon TV-out to work
The updated software included with SUSE should bear more fruit. X11 7.4 has radeon drivers that should support TV-out for my ATI RV350 (Mobility Radeon 9600) graphics card. I wasn't able to get TV-out to work on older laptops, but this one is fairly new, and the software supports it better ( Read more... ) -

Still frittering away precious time and energy on openSUSE. I blitzed through a few configuration projects this last week before finally proclaiming it all unnecessary. Then I tried to get some actual important stuff done before once again succumbing to the urge to tweak ( Read more... ) -
Impossible! (suse cont'd)
I've been fiddling with this new install for so much time...I thought it was almost a month ago that I got it installed to dexter, but all evidence (modify/creation dates on home folders, main forum's join date) points to only two weeks ago! Exactly two weeks ago today...

Toward higher resolution...and cool 3D effects (SuSE contd)
I was going to wait for an update to make this work automagically, but I'd really like a higher screen resolution not supported by the opensource graphics drivers, and for games to play--possibly ruined by the bungled earlier proprietary ATI driver install. I think?
