• i rode the metro off-peak on my way to work, cutting my commuting cost almost in half.
• talked to curlybopbop. twice!
• finally brought a bowl to work so i can stop microwaving my lunch in plastic.
• used the vegetarian microwave in the basement for the first time.
• i wore overalls all day and did not accidentally dip the straps in the toilet even once.

Five and a half years ago, on the eve of the US invasion of Iraq, I wrote a letter that I never sent to President Bush telling him why I was ashamed to be an American for the first time in my life.

Today, I am proud to be a citizen of this country.

i'm not usually one to post quiz results, but procrastination is inspirational in that regard, and parts of it are so accurate they're funny. i didn't even understand some of the questions, but apparently it still worked... ( please, share in my laughter. )

My computer battery has been on the fritz since midsummer: it charges up to (supposedly) 105% and then runs out in 10-15 minutes. This morning I tried turning off the auto-shutdown at 4% and I've been running at 0% for over 5 minutes now! Who knew? Any moment now, my screen will plunge into darkness. I'm waiting...

oh i love being cryptic.

I spent last shabbat with a bunch of very snuggly people. Being back is a stark reminder of how generally lacking the world is in hugs. I forget a lot that most people are actually quite huggable.
