My neighbor got shot last night. Isn't that fun? Or terrifying, take your pick.

It's shit like this that drives me to transform my home into a fortress... ... 'n Jennifer questions me about it... well... after someone cut the bungee-cord I keep on our gate only to find the lock I have on there, her eyes have become open to the fact that there are people out there that want to do bad things to you... ... sadly, this is true... I wish it weren't... ...... I'm sorry this happened so close to your home......... but I'd hope that you and Chuck take the necessary precautions to ensure that this doesn't happen to you... I mean, security 'n all that jazz... ... there's this shatterproof laminate that I'm lookin' into gettin' for our ground-floor windows... not exactly sure on the cost... but it's an idea you might wanna' look into for yourselves... ... there's nothin' wrong with makin' your house into a fortress.
Shame about y'er neighbor... but I'm glad you're all okay. 8)>
Jebus that is freaky! I would be scared too... but random crimes like that can happen ANYWHERE and ANY TIME.
Good thing you have two giant pooches and a Chuck for defense. ;)
Yeah... I don't know how I feel about kids that young doing something so heinous (sp?). While I believe in rehabilitation, random violence is something that can NOT be tolerated in society. It just can't. To be THAT de-sensitized to TAKING A LIFE; I can't imagine how a person can get to that place.
I'm not really *scared* per say. More just kind of freaked out about the proximity of it and how it could possibly have had a different outcome. I'm not going to live my life in fear though, there's just no point. If it was random, then theree's not much I could do about it, aside from take certain common sense precautions. And if it wasn't random, then it's still freaky, but doesn't make me worry for our safety, because we don't get into the sorts of situations that get you shot, you know?
And yeah, I totally don't understand how you get to that place, especially at such a young age. I've got some theories, but I still don't get it.
Yeah. And I really don't live in a "bad" neighborhood! I'm thinking it maybe wasn't a random thing though, after some stuff I heard from some other neighbors. It seems like it may have been targeted. Though it's really all just rumor at this point.
